Chapter 22: Race

After the day of training with Slimey, the next day they had the morning all dedicated to studying their courses for the exams were approaching with every day. And after a long day studying it was finally lunchtime. 

"Hey Aoi!" Aikou said while getting close to her "You seem off since yesterday, something wrong?"

"Not really, after fighting with Slimey and almost facing death I felt adrenaline running over me, but I was scared for a second (It was such a familiar sensation), but I wasn't scared because of me, I felt the fear of Bakugo and Midoriya" She answered

"Are you sure you are ok?" Aikou asked a little more concerned this time

"I am fine, I just... feel confused, that is it, nothing more" Aoi said while looking down

"Aoi " Aikou tried to place her hand on her shoulder 

"I said I am fine" Aoi replied with an angrier tone making Aikou back up

"Y-yeah I know, I just wanted to check on you... Sorry" AIkou replied 

Aoi looked at her immediately and felt guilty "I am sorry, I shouldn't have said it that way, I just..."

"Aoi" Aikou said with a smile "You don't have to apologize to me, you are still healing emotionally, I should not push you in those topics" she said with a soft smile

Aoi just looked at her with a small forced smile which was enough for Aikou to be convinced she was good, so they went to the table to sit with the other girls of the class. They were all eating together when they noticed that Slimey was hanging out with the third years.

"I never noticed him around until after the training, but he is always hanging out with everyone" Uraraka said while looking at Slimey

"He seems so friendly and nice, I mean he is, it is still hard to believe he was able to eliminate us all yesterday" Niji added

Aoi remained quiet but looked at the third years

"He usually is always with the third years for they are the ones he spends the most time with, and well usually give him the most food as time goes by" answered a second year student who was sitting nearby

"I have a question, if he is a type of classified thing, where does he go once school is over everyday?" Mina asked

"He lives here, he is not allowed to leave. He is even forced to stay hidden during vacations by himself here or is locked in a special cage somewhere according to some teachers" The student answered

"What? All by himself?" Uraraka asked

"Well, some professors come and feed him, but yeah, he doesn't know anything outside these walls, so that is why we all treat him so nice, it helps him not feel lonely" the student answered before she went back to eating

"I feel so bad for the little thing" Yaoyorozu commented

"I mean, being alone is something that can break anyone, now I wish I could cuddle him all the time" Mina added

"(Being alone breaks anyone... strong words from people who probably have never been alone)" Aoi thought while she kept eating her food 

Once lunchtime was over, the class was asked to change to their hero costumes and meet All Might in one of the training grounds.

"Very good, now that everyone is here let us begin," All Might said while all of the students stood in front of him "Today we will be having a basic training session boys and girls, how are you all doing?" he asked
