When the Moon had been born along with earth, Moxie and Jewn made a Yokai guardian of the moon, a honoring Yokai guardian of the Moon Goddess Tsukuyomi.

The Moon Yokai, Lunala was given by the name of the moon. The dragon has a skeletal, legless bat. It has a short snout, dark pink eyes with white centers, and a deep blue area on its upper head that shows a constantly changing starscape.

A rigid raised hood wraps around its head in a crescent shape, resembling a crescent moon or bat ears, and drapes around its neck as well. The outside of the hood is yellow, while the inner part that curves around Lunala's head is a pattern of deep blue and white streaks. Its torso resembles a ribcage with a slightly curved spike on each shoulder and three spikes extending from the bottom toward its tail.

Its massive wings resemble a bat's wings with the skeleton exposed, except that Lunala's wings have a total of seven "finger bones": four running through each wing, one running along the edge to the outermost tip, and two pointing upwards that may act as claws that are more functional. The four "bones" through Lunala's wings are only visible in segments.

The skin of Lunala's wings is an iridescent deep blue, and a light blue light source appears to glow from behind its ribcage. A large, pale yellow crescent connects the outermost tip of each wing to the next two inner tips, and the remaining two innermost tips are adorned by yellow, four-pointed stars.

The bottom of Lunala's tail is also lined by a yellow crescent, with a ridge running up the middle of the tail towards the ribcage.

Moxie and Jewn made Lunala's goal to make new species a purpose and help bring the magic to Earth. As if you didn't know, Luna chooses so many new Yokai species to be warriors, healers, guardians, and protectors from the Yokai world.

2,000 years ago, in Japan, where technology hasn't been discovered or cities were never built, the people of Japan discovered a strange shape of the moon in which it was a god itself. Lunala had been driven by curiosity as she descended down from the Moon.

A young teenage girl named Yuki was the first to discover the young moon Yokai. When she laid eyes on Lunala, the moon dragoness had given her a look of hope, compassion, trust, and peace. With the dragoness meeting a human, Yuki gave her the magic crystal to keep it safe from danger.

With the crystal in a safe place, Lunala decided to take a piece of the crystal for someone to wear it and hide it on earth just in case when danger comes.

Moxie and Jewn seen the mercy and trust Lunala had given and gave her a role to help give some roles to all Yokai down on earth.

Lunala started to give so many roles to Yokai folk, giving them the life they chose to be.

She chose the Nightmarens to inspire light in the stars. And when they started to get bored, Lunala gave a Dream World in the pond where the Nightmarens go in, catch Phizzwizards, and make dreams.

She made eggs of Mystic Dragons in which she curved a dragon-shaped country which she called Kumandra, where the dragons hatch and bring water to the valley.

She made the breezies to bring the light whenever night comes. They are very tiny and small in the eye of a human being who can catch a single flying bug.

She chose the Celebi to serve as Guardians of the forest and bring light into the forest. She made each Celebi unique and how they have a special talent, including the Fairy Celebi, the rarest species in the forest.

She gave the Shaymin beauty from their kind and hopeful souls. She made them into different kinds of flower forms and gave them the ability to fly when they make contact with a flower, which turns into a small reindeer Yokai.

She gave the Luvi folk luck and determination, who can protect their human companion and help serve those who need help. She gave them the ability to sing and fight and gave them the ability to see the future.

But during that time, Lunala is still worried of what was going to happen if the Yokai died. That was when bad things happened. The Mystic Dragons had been turned to stone by the Druun including the last dragon shot to death. All the people of Kumandra had been turned to stone and wither away while some surviving people head north to get away. Lunala then sensed a bad feeling when she saw an evil threat about to destroy earth and turn everyone into stone.

Lunala sensed the danger and knew she had to save her earth with a little help.
