Once, sea monsters live in harmony caring for one another. But they did find this Atlantis deep below the Mariana trench. Samiya is the Atlantis name where all sea folk come to live. It had been built thousands of years ago when the Egyptian buildings were built. The water folk put those magic crystals in the center calling it the sea crown, creating a blob of water from above. All sea monsters moved into Samiya to live in coral-like houses. Land folk never went down here since it was hidden for a long time.

It didn't last long when a small egg floated around the ocean floors. No one knows who created it but it was born from the coldest ocean depths. One of the sea monsters named Sealight found the egg alone. Believing it could not survive, she took it to her home where she raised it.

Sealight's friends ask where the egg came from and how it got in the ocean in the first place. Sealight didn't know why the egg came here. And she said when she was outside the city, she found the egg alone and cold. Jewn, the water goddess appeared for a visit and explained that she made this egg so there will be an empress of the ocean. She made a few eggs that are scattered around the four oceans so that the owner can find and raise them. For this egg, this one was already located in the Atlantic ocean.

Just as she explained, the egg began to glow, beginning that it was about to hatch. As the glowing has finally faded, a newly formed Yokai is formed. It was small, blue and aquatic with stubby feet and club-like arms that are longer than its body. It has a red gem on its chest and a yellow dot below the gem. Its onion-shaped head has a pair of long blue antennae, which have small spheres on the ends. Its irises are dark blue with yellow sclerae, and there are two yellow dots of "eyelash" markings extending from the eyes. Jewn explained that the first that the little Manaphy will see was the sea monster holding it and becoming its parent.

The sea monsters begin to call the Yokai Manaphy, dubbing it the emperor or empress of the ocean. It also means that Manaphy is like a sea angel. Although they are genderless, they can tell that it's voice can be a female or a male. It showed that Manaphy can use its Soul note and heal allies with her Heart Heal. But since this small water Yokai is adaptable in water, they need it to breathe, otherwise they will pass out and die from dehydration. They can only stay underwater so that they survive their environment.

All of the Manaphy have the sense to return to their birthplace so they can live in this ocean temple. They have existed for thousands of years ever since the life of the ocean. Their life in the ocean was creative since they were raised by their owners.

Not all Manaphy are all born to the sea monster folk. A mother Nightmaren found a large, mysterious egg in the sand. She took it into the star world where she gave the egg to her eight year old daughter Pavi Sparklelight. Pavi was the one who made the rainbow phizzard for dreams. And she was so young, she hadn't invented them. Her twelve year old brother Rudolph, who learned some information about Manaphy, made a soft fluffy water-like bowl filled with water so the egg could hatch.

Pavi started to wait for the egg to hatch and began to make sure it didn't dry out. After a few weeks had passed, the egg started to hatch. The newly born Yokai was the same as the others except she had developed gills, three more antennas and a mermaid's tail. A new species of Manaphy is born. It was a rare special day for a new Manaphy to be raised by a Nightmaren. Pavi had given the young small ningyo Akua, a latin word of aqua. She started raising the baby Manaphy until she started to get used to her new owner.

That was when a new generation of the Manaphy were born.
