My baby was relaxing on me as he sketched in his notebook. As I played with his hair, someone knocked on our door. The look he threw at it made me almost expect the person on the other side to drop dead. He closed his eyes, taking a breath and putting on his usual stoic mask before getting up and walking towards it. We'd been relaxing in Ciara's nursery when we started getting bombarded by parents. After the third person woke Ciara, my baby snapped and quite literally chased them from our hallway with a threat to the next person who knocked on its door. Once we'd made it back to the room, we had the short reprieve of 1 hour before they started to bother us once more. Throughout every parent's complaint and beg, Cy was unyielding but respectful and mature. He wanted to make sure that they understood that this was to help teach the pups responsibility, along with what was right and wrong. That being said, listening to his thoughts compared to his words, was a bit funny.

He reached the door and opened it to reveal a new set of parents of one of the culprits. Before Cy could even greet them, they went into their speech,

"Kaleb is a good boy. He's just young and you know how young kids are. A whole weekend is a little excessive for something so minor, don't you think, young Luna Cyrus?"

Cy blinked,

"This has gone a bit farther than a minor situation at this point; don't you think, Violet?"

The she-wolf's eyes widened, and I saw my baby tap the door lightly while thinking,

Yes. I also know your name.

Violet began again,

"Really, though; why don't you allow us to handle it? We don't want to bother you with such things since your hands are full with little Ciara."

If you'd handled it, we wouldn't be in this situation now, would we?

Cy took a breath,

"It's fine, really. It's my responsibility as future Luna to handle situations such as these. In any case, it's no trouble at all. In all honesty, I'm glad the situation was discovered before it escalated. Also, a weekend of punishment isn't as bad as years of bullying, unless my math is off..."

Violet cleared her throat and looked down,

"Not at all, young Luna Cyrus. Your math is very sound. Karter and I would rather take the blame as the bad guys and give out punishments ourselves. We'd hate for Kaleb's view of his Luna to be warped by this experience."

Cy raised a brow,

"If receiving just punishment for his wrongdoing causes him to view a person negatively rather than become remorseful and work towards change, wouldn't that reveal some downfalls in his character that go far beyond bullying? I hope that's not what you're suggesting. Your family is held in high regard and doesn't seem the type to instill or encourage such negative behaviors into their children; at least, according to how Mical talks about you all. Ari, too."

Violet looked up quickly, her eyes wide,

"Of course not! I phrased that incorrectly! I meant that kids can sometimes misinterpret things when it comes to punishments, is all..."

Careful, Violet. Backtracking as quickly as you are, you're liable to trip over your own feet.

"Believe me when I say that the pups will definitely be fully aware of why they received the punishment. I'll make no discrepancies in revealing the how and why of their situation this weekend. I do thank you for your concern in the matter and I won't hesitate to ask for help if such a need arises. Until then, I look forward to seeing Kaleb bright and early on Saturday with the first draft of his heartfelt apology."

Violet nodded quietly, finally deciding to just go along with the program,

"Of course. We'll see you tomorrow, young Luna Cyrus."

Cy closed the door and rolled his eyes before laying across the bed, his head in my lap. His arm rested over his eyes as he sighed,

"You'd think I asked the kids to take forty lashes from a whip and stand in the sun. This is basically is the equivalent of Saturday detention, right? Am I being too harsh?"

He peered at me from behind his arm questioningly. I smiled and leaned down to kiss his arm before removing it from his face and running my fingers through his hair. As he purred, I answered him,

"You're not being harsh at all. They're just not used to situations like this being handled this way. It's been a long time since there was a Luna in the pack. On top of that, my dad can only do so much since he's only one person. Things like this would usually fall on the parents, who are usually easy on their kids, for one reason or another. It's not healthy, and sometimes it leads to becoming bigger issues. Of course, not everyone acts like the parents that have been knocking on our door, but there are always a few who, unconsciously or consciously, allow cycles like this to continue through generations. To be honest, you're handling this very well. I know you're irritated, but your calm and professional way of handling it is exactly what a Luna would do."

He gave his small smile as he looked at me appreciatively,

"Thank you. I just...I don't have a role model to follow. I can only follow what I've read about or the things Ari, Mical, and you mention. I want to do my best to help the pack run smoothly and be dependable and united."

I caressed his cheek,

"Alleviating a situation like this definitely will help with that. Lunas make sure that the pack is a safe space for everyone and that we can exist cooperatively with each other. That we help each other and that everyone who needs help receives it. You're doing a great job so far. Don't doubt yourself so much, love, and remember that I'll always be here to help, hm?"

He nodded, and I kissed his lips gently. The last parent never came, thankfully, and we were able to have a fairly peaceful day. Cy was putting Ciara to bed as I got out of the shower. I dried off and opened the drawer, pulling out a pair of pajama pants. As I slipped them on, Cy walked back in. He kissed my cheek before walking into the bathroom. As I walked back in myself, the shower turned on. Cy's silhouette held my attention as he washed up behind the foggy glass. I couldn't help the smile on my face. I really lucked out. Out of everyone, I was paired with someone as beautiful, inside and out, as him. I could never be thankful enough.

The shower turned off, and I turned to the mirror to brush my teeth. As the shower door slid open, I made eye contact with Cy through the mirror. His crystal blue eyes seemed like jewels as the water droplets stuck to his lashes caught the light. He smiled and combed his wet hair back, away from his face before drying himself off,

"I know you were watching me through the glass. What's on your mind, Leo?"

I spit out the toothpaste and wiped my mouth off,

"You know you're always first in my mind, love. You and Ciara, now. I was just admiring you as usual."

He chuckled and wrapped a towel around his lean waist. As he smiled at me, I pulled him close and kissed his cheek, neck, and shoulder,

 "I love you, Cyrus."

He pressed his body closer to me as he kissed my neck,

 "I love you, too, Leo."

We stayed like that for a while before finishing our nightly routine and sliding into bed. My baby held close to my chest, to my heart, as we drifted into dreamland.
