I walked away for a second. I didn't wanna just leave rain hanging but I had to cause I could feel my chest getting tighter. As soon as I made it to my bathroom I locked the door and went to the sink, I turned on the faucet and splashed water in my face. It was absurdly cold, when I looked up at myself in the mirror, the room around me went dark, my reflection was looking back at me but it was smiling. I stood back away from my mirror as the reflection looked to be laughing. It licked its lips with an apparent hunger, holding up the necklace I made Rain, the necklace appeared to be bloody. The feather was gone from the clasp and the reflection was laughing again at my terror. I felt my hands get clammy as the reflection crawled through the mirror, it was now apparent that it was my demon form looking back at me. I began to feel my eyes fill with tears as it got close to me, could feel it's heavy breaths as it began smiling at me again, this time his mouth was oozing blood. His venom like tongue hanging out his mouth, also oozing blood with the addition of saliva causing it to drip onto the floor. He said something to me but it was too distorted for me to understand it. The only words I could make out were, "Abigail", "Rain". And another word that sounded like "saved". It only made my chest feel tighter. I wanted to scream but I couldn't, I couldn't speak either. Right as the demon raised its viciously large hand to swing at me, Rain came barging into the bathroom. As soon as I saw them I saw the demon vanish and my reflection showing my pale upper body. Rain grabbed me and pulled me close to them, hugging me tightly and cooing at me to calm me down.
"Hey I'm here, it's okay" Rain assured
I began to sob loudly into their shoulder. My body felt weak, and I knew I was pale in the face. My forehead was beaded with sweat. Finally I could speak.
"Fuck." I muttered "please don't be upset"
"I'm not Aer. I'm more concerned than anything" They replied
"It's nothing Rain" I said quickly
"No it's not, you look like your soul just left your body" They said
"I'm.. never mind don't worry about it" I replied
Rain looked into my eyes and I could see they were genuinely concerned. They looked almost scared. I couldn't bare to look at Rain anymore and I turned away from them. Rain kept trying to make me turn back around. Eventually I spun around quickly to speak.
"Rain I-" I began
Suddenly they grabbed me by the chin and pulled me close to kiss me. When rain pulled away, I just stood there in shock. I tried to find the words but they couldn't come out. When I looked back at Rain they were slightly red in the face. I grabbed their hand and held it on my chest. Rain looked up at me, making them even more red.
"Thank you for that." I said
"For what?" They asked
"Kissing me.." I replied
Rain smiled and nodded slightly. I pulled them closer to me and kissed their forehead before resting my head on top of theirs. Rain wrapped their arm around my waist in return.
"I don't just like you Rain.." I began
Rain looked up at me with sheer concern as I looked back down at them.
"..I love you" I continued
~Time Skip || Kali's POV~
It was late at night when I got a call from who I thought was Aeron. I picked it up with a snappy type of tone.
"What do you want" I snapped
"Woah Kal. What did I do?" He said
"OH SHIT. You aren't Aeron I'm soooo sorry" I replied quickly
"Ha. You mistook me for my brother." He laughed
"Oh my god! Valentino! It's been so long" I said excitedly
"Yeah it has. Where's that short stack of a brother anyways" Val said
"I have no clue." I replied
"Yeah well I called him and he didn't answer.. twice" He said impatiently
"He might be busy Val, calm down" I said
"True but like I called him twice and the third time it went straight to voicemail." He explained
"So either his phone died or he purposely powered it off. Or he has a phone like me where when 'Do Not Disturb' is on, it send the call straight to voicemail" I reasoned
"He's probably playing games as he usually does" Val laughed
"Nah actually he really hasn't played games that much recently. He's got himself a new boo" I giggled
"WHO" He asked
"Their name is Rain" I replied
"So he's in love with the weather?" Val said jokingly
I tried to stifle my laugh but I failed miserably. "No no, the name Rain is gender neutral"
"OH-" Val laughed
"You're so slow. But let me call Aeron real quick to see if he picks up, I'll call you back" I said
"Okay, later Kal." He replied
"Later" I said as I hung up
I called Aeron a few times before he picked up. I wasn't amused with him at this moment.
"What Kali?" He asked
"What are you doing that's causing you to not pick up?" I asked
"Um.. next question" Aeron replied
"What- what do you mean 'next question'" I snapped
Aeron just giggled nervously, in the process of trying to find the words to tell him his brother was in town, I heard something that made me almost go off on him.
"AERON WHAT ARE YOU DOING"
He just went really quiet and I heard him giggling.
"I'll call you back later Kali I promise" He said
"Aeron you better not be fu-" I said
He hung up on me before I could finish my sentence. I called Valentino back and he could hear that I wasn't not enthused.
"You okay there fella?" He asked
"No. Aeron's over there fucking" I said
"Fucking...?" He repeated
"Fucking somebody.. and it ain't me this time" I replied
"WHAT-" Val exclaimed
"It wasn't intentional.." I said
"You still hooked up with your childhood friend" He said
"I know I know.. but he's good at what he does" I replied
"Oh come on Kal I don't need to know if my brother has game or not" Val whined
"Sorry.." I said
Me and Valentino talked for the rest of the night, catching up on stuff.
