6. I don't need them

Start from the beginning

I headed down to what would be my bed for the rest night. The couch, couple of cushions and my thickest blanket.

I could already feel the crick in my neck that was sure to come.

Then next night I was awoken again around the same time, not by someone mooching about, but some sort of thumping sound. I groaned and got out of bed, going straight to where I assumed the sound was sourced.

Jamies room.

I was evidently right as I opened up the door to see jamie up out of bed, throwing their pillows at the wall and kicking the bed, grumbling angrily to themselves.

"Woahwoahwoah"
I started, jamies head snapping towards me.
"What the hell is going on?

Jamie immediately went off on me, shouting in the dark.
"None of your fucking business, that's what"
"Jamie-"
"FUCK OFF!"
They screamed. I looked the mouthy little one up and down, badly so considering how dark it was. But I could assume I knew why Jamie was so upset.

I was on the verge of throwing them over my shoulder to taking them for a time out. I usually would've been more calm but my tiredness only urged me on. I'd slept rather horribly on the couch and was in desperate need for a full 8 hours.

"Jamie stop it. You can't speak to people that way. You need to calm down and explain why you're so upset
I wondered towards to ligtswitch as I talked
I flipped on the switch and Jamie quickly grabbed a pillow, hiding behind it.

I crossed my arms as Jamie glared at me.
"Put down the pillow Jamie"
"No, get out!"
"Jamie-"
"Out!"

Jamie pointed for emphasis but that would be their downfall as they let the pillow fall to the side. Revealing another wet spot on their shorts.

Before I could even say anything, the pillow was thrown at me, hitting me in the chest.
"GET OUT"
Jamie screeched before trying to throw the other pillow, but I caught it.
"Jamie cut it out"

"Don't talk to me like I'm a child! I'm nearly 18! I don't need you and I don't need the fucking pullups!"

My patience wore thin
"Well you obviously you do"
Jamie paled
"I- I'm not a child, I don't need them.. they're child...ish"

"Jamie, the way you're acting right now is the only thing making this childish"
Their eyes went wide, before getting angry again.

"IM NOT BEING CHILDISH! Ima ma- mat- mature!.. person!"
Jamie quickly yelled back at me, stumbling a little over themselves. I took a deep sigh.

"Jamie, mature people do not yell that loud this late at night, mature people do not kick and scream when stuff doesn't go their way. Mature people do not throw tantrums, and you know that's what you're doing. You're throwing a tantrum Jamie, like an angry 3 year old. I'd hardly call that mature now-"

I was cut off by a sudden quiet sob. I stopped from my small lecture and knelt down in front of Jamie, properly looking at their face. Tears were running down their cheeks as they tried holding back another sob. Perhaps I was a bit harsh in my tone.

"Oh no, Jamie dear, you're ok. Andi's gonna make it ok"
I cupped their face and wiped away tears with my thumb.
"I'm sorry for being harsh dear, I'm just really tired right now but that's not a very good excuse is it"

Jamie sniffled and looked down at the feet.
"I don like crying, makes me feel small"
"Oh?"
I asked, encouraging them to go.
"Ma-mach-mature people don cry, is stupid"
