Chapter 14: Anniversary

"Nope. Let's just stay here. Hindi naman ako na bo-bored. Isa pa, kasama kita and I'm taking care of you. Tomorrow, let's celebrate tomorrow. Ok?" Tumango na lang ako sa kanya.

We just lay in my bed the whole day binge watching and telling stories and stuffs hanggang sa maka tulog ako. 2am ng magising ako at si mama na ang umasikaso sakin kahit mabuti na ang pakiramdam ko.

She also told me na 30 minutes ago bago ako magising ng maka uwi si Dave, binantayan daw kasi nya ako tsaka pinagluto ang mga kapatid ko.

Kinabukasan ay bumisita ulit sya sa bahay at ipinagpaalam ako kay mama na ilalabas for dinner at gaya ng dati, walang angal si mama at mga kapatid ko isa pa, alam nilang hindi kami nakapag celebrate ng anniversary namin kahapon.

Gaya nga ng napag planuhan, sa high-end restau kami ng dad ni Dave nag celebrate. But unlike last time kung saan una ko syang na interview, kami lang ang tao ngayon. Pina reserve nya kasi ang buong lugar and of course kahit naman dad nya ang may ari, he wants all of the staff to treat him like how they treat other costumer.

May dalawang waiter, musician sa tabi ng mesa, dalawang taga violin, isang taga piano at gitara tsaka singer na naka upo sa isang stool. By the looks of them, handang handa talaga silang gawing romantic ang gabing ito.

Nasa may bintana na din kami this time kung saan kitang kita mula sa pwesto namin ang buong city.

Kahit alam kong napakayaman ni Dave at kayang gawin ang lahat, hindi ko pa rin maiwasang hindi masorpresa sa mga ginagawa nya.

"Ang romantic naman." Komento ko. Mahigpit nya naman akong hinawakan sa kamay ko.

"Of course. Let's dance?" Tumango ako sa kanya saka kami nag simulang sumayaw.

"Why you looking at me like that?" Tanong ko habang naka pulupot ang dalawang braso sa kanyang leeg.

"Nope. I'm freaking serious. I know it's so cliche to say and hear this but, I never really thought our first encounter will be that drama-like." Napa halakhak naman ako. He's right. Sobrang cliche lang. Ang nakaka inis pa talaga dun, kung ano yung character ng isang lalaking chickboy sa tv, yun din ang naging mode nya ng panahong yun.

"Are you happy with me?" Medyo nagulat naman ako sa tanong nya kaya napa hinto kami sa pag sway kasabay ng music na tinutugtog.

He looked so nervous kaya ngumiti ako ng malapad sa kanya sabay tango.

As for now, I'm just savoring this moment with him, because I'm not going to lie, I'm afraid that this happiness we're feeling is only a disguised on something more painful that's coming.
