(3 Months Later)
Life was getting harder and
harder each day. No family, no love, and no home. The only thing keeping me at
school was the fact I had Mr. Way every day. He was the reason I wake up in the
morning. I'm living in a huge field of free space in the country-side. I'm
lucky; the country-side is only a 10 minute walk from my school. I sleep in a
tent at the very back of the field so people who go by cannot see me. My
hygiene? It was actually pretty good for a homeless teenager. I have been
pretending I've been having sports clubs and having showers at Taylor's place.
She's not getting suspicious; I'm very active - Or was. School was boring, but I'm glad I was
getting an education.
I woke up, put on my deodorant
and makeup on and my school uniform. I only wore simple makeup - Light
foundation and eyeliner. I don't like makeup much. But in today's society, if
you don't do what the other girls do, you'll get nowhere. I hated that.
I made my way to school and
rushed up to Jamia as soon as I saw her.
"Heya Jamia."
"Hey Serena, haven't seen you for
a while! Seems like ages! "
"Haha, it's only been 2 days! I've
missed you too." Just then, Taylor tapped me on the back.
"Hey, Mr. Way said he wants to see you
in class. You
better go."
"Thanks" I said and rushed to Mr. Way's
class. I knocked
on the door and he directed me in.
"Thanks for coming Serena. I just need
to talk to you."
"Oh..." I muttered nervously. Oh no...
"It's just that you haven't been
working as hard as the
first month. After that Serena, I'm not trying to been mean, it's just I think
you need a little more help in Art."
"Really?" I sighed. "What can I do to
make it better?"
"I was actually thinking about a
session after school.
Don't worry, it won't be too long. Just about an hour, an hour and a half? Is
that OK?"
Well,
I had nowhere to go.
"Yeah,
it's fine Mr. Way. I really want to get better at art, I don't know what
happened."
"Okay
Serena, see you after school. Bye." He
whispered,
distracted by the book he had in his hand.
"Bye Mr. Way. Sorry about this."
He looked up, his eye's crystal blue
and looking into
mine, it reminded me of the first day I met him.
"Please, don't be sorry. I don't mind."
I smiled. "Thanks Mr. Way. Bye."
"Bye Serena." I walked out the door
disappointed. What have I done? I've been
so distracted by
me living on a field, that I haven't even had time to practise Art.
My life wasn't really wasn't going to plan.
