-----------------

On the first night of your breakup, you spent it snacking, watching TV, crying, and wandering around aimlessly.

It was a fight the other night that ended it all.

Your boyfriend—ex—was your best friend and the person you loved the most in the universe, having now officially broken up felt like aching, longing, like someone had carved out a piece of you.

You were at the tiger prop store that you introduced him to. He loved that place and you two went there often, to find new tiger things to buy. You loved the smile on his face whenever he saw things he wanted. He would be playful, serious, and maybe way too serious about his tiger wantings.

The memories in that shop were what made you go there and just sit on the tiger-painted bench in front of the shop. You were trying not to cry again since it was early orange dawn and people were beginning to walk outdoors, with places to go or people to meet.

You held your phone tight in your hand, unable to stop feeling the smoothness of the matching tiger phone cases Soonyoung had got for you and him. You couldn't stop thinking about him and how much you regretted how that fight went down.

It was a petty fight that ended with the two of you shouting at each other, insulting each other, leaving each other.

You didn't have the courage to call him and say sorry nor did you have the courage to ask for forgiveness.

It was over, after all.

When a warm tear began causing a streak down your cheek, you wiped it away quickly and stood up from the bench. You walked away quietly, sniffling, before bursting into tears yet again.

You had to run to get into your car and cry.

-

Soonyoung was just in bed.

He was rolling over and over, flipping his pillow warm side to cold, yanking his blanket on and off, tugging his tiger back and forth.

It was all no use. Nothing could replace the comfort he felt whenever sleeping with you. Whenever he held the beautiful, dreamy you in his arms, his whole world would fall sleepy as you took him to dreamland effortlessly.

Now, without you, he was missing his dreamland escort. He was missing the person he laughed with, cried with, and understood him. He was missing the person who kissed him passionately, gave him kisses before work, and hugged him whenever he was down. God, a hug would really be good then.

“Fuck...” was all that Soonyoung could mutter in between the sheets. He had cried that night of the breakup but afterward, stayed in bed, just staring at the ceiling and thinking.

He didn't even know what he was thinking about anymore. The night of the fight? The traces that you left behind? The memories? You?

It was probably all of that.
