Seventeen Vocal Unit: When You Have a Miscarriage

Woozi:

The miscarriage left both of you speechless.

Both of you were sitting on the couch, side by side, your hands clasped with each other. You two were spacing out, unknowing of what to do after losing your child.

Quietly, you broke the silence.

“Maybe this is the heavens' way of telling me that I'm not ready to become a mother.”

You looked down at Jihoon's hand that you were holding so tightly.

Just as you were about to cry, Jihoon suddenly buried his head in your shoulder, hugging you tightly. You could feel his warm, sad tears wet your shirt.

Jeonghan:

Both of your hearts dropped.

Never in your life did you expect to have a miscarriage.

Your mind immediately went blank. You didn't know what to do or say at all. You just stood blankly in the OB-GYN. As if mocking your miscarriage, in front of you appeared a healthy young child, getting ready for a check-up.

The tears began to build in your eyes.

Jeonghan was shocked and sad but he didn't want to show it.

Jeonghan then stepped in front of you to block your vision and hugged you tightly, caressing your hair.

“It's okay. I'll be okay.”

Joshua:

Joshua had suggested that you two get some fresh air outside of the hospital. Accepting the miscarriage was hard.

Sitting on a bench, staring at the ground, you felt a warm hand take yours. You finally looked up and found Joshua staring down at your hands, holding them tightly, caressing your fingers.

Joshua tried to smile it away but you could read his expression. He was just as heartbroken as you were.

Joshua held your hand a little tighter and said, “Don't worry about anything. Our baby was... it was an angel that decided not to descend. It'll be okay.”

DK:

It was quiet for a bit. Both of you were still processing the words the doctor said regarding the child in your stomach had now disappeared.

You didn't want to accept that you had a miscarriage.

Seokmin studied your expression closely then walked in front of you. In the empty hallway, he hugged you warmly, caressing the back of your head.

“Let's just mourn together, it already hurts a lot,” Seokmin said, his tone gentle. “I'm sure our child is now in baby heaven. It's all okay, darling.”

You wrapped your arms around him tightly and together, you both cried.

Seungkwan:

The news of the miscarriage left both you and Seungkwan in tears.

You two were facing each other, hugging and crying, collapsed on the floor.

“I'm sorry, Seungkwan... our baby...” You managed to say that much amid your tears.

Seungkwan shook his head, tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear and wiping your tears.

“Don't be sorry, please...” He said, though his words were a bit mixed with his tears. “We did our best, so don't be sorry, okay?”

Other people may have been watching you two cry together but they probably didn't know the pain behind it.
