You had your left hand resting under your right elbow as you walked, your right hand tapping your chin and a bit of your lips as you gazed at the works.

Your boyfriend Minghao was walking to your side, gazing at you instead of at the art pieces. He had already walked through the gallery once before you came. He had his hands held behind his back.

"Isn't that one so pretty?" You asked Minghao, pointing to a piece of artwork.

You stared at the beautiful painting. It may have looked easy to make but you could see all of the efforts that were our in to make that beautiful scenery. It was an autumn tree reflecting on a puddle with an abandoned purple umbrella on the floor. The variety of colors that were used and the way everything blended together made your heart flutter.

"It is," Minghao said, analyzing your face before taking a look at the painting. Minghao smiled. "That one's called 'Left'. I talked with the artist and he said that he painted this when his girlfriend left him. It took months to finish."

You nodded, feeling the sorrow of the painting just by looking at that dark purple umbrella. You moved on and continued to look at the next paintings. Most of them were gorgeous in their own way.

Minghao continued to walk beside you, making small comments as you two passed by many art pieces. He looked at your focused face and couldn't help but smile to himself. His heart started thumping nervously.

You guys turned when you reached the end of the wall. The connecting wall had only three pieces of artwork. You passed by one, it was an oceanside painting.

It was the one in the middle that caught your eye. You dropped your arms to your side and looked at the painting. Something about it was so utterly beautiful that you couldn't take your eyes off of it. For some reason, you felt a connection spark between you and the painting.

The piece was of a girl with her hair below ng in the wind, she was sitting against a brown tree. The grass was so many different and beautiful shades of green, with a pit of scattered pink. The girl seemed to be leaning against the tree like it was her friend. She and the tree were in the middle of the painting. Not to mention, the sky was a beautiful hue of light blue, with pink and light purple clouds, blended with streaks of yellow and orange from the sun. There were some small lines of green in the sky.

Minghao walked up from behind you and stood next to you, looking at the painting. Then, he glanced at you, who was staring so intently at the painting.

"What do you think of this one?" He asked casually, placing his hands in the pockets of his flowy black pants, matching with his jacket. His yellow glasses were rested on top of his head.

You turned to him, looking at his face. It felt you blanked out for a second.

You swiveled back to the painting, seeing it again made your heart strike with its beauty. "I love it. It's so beautiful and I... I don't know, I really like it. I just want to put it in my house and look at it every time I wake up. I feel connected with it."

Minghao smiled softly.

"She seems so comforted and the entire mood of this painting is so soft and gentle. It's so pretty. I want to meet the artist behind this striking artwork."

You turned to Minghao with a determined look.
Minghao didn't turn his body but only his head. He smiled and then leaned in to your face a little.

"I made it," Minghao whispered, before returning to his original stance. "I created this piece."

Your eyes widened a bit and you tilted your head, leaning toward your boyfriend. "Really? You made it?"

Minghao nodded.

"When? How- how did you come up with something so beautiful?" You asked.

Minghao didn't reply and just continued to gaze at his own masterpiece. You quietly turned to the painting, once again, you felt the butterflies in your heart awaken. It was so breathtaking, such a dreamy piece.

"A few months ago, we went to the countryside, right?" Minghao asked, his tone was calm and soft.
You nodded.

"You looked just like this from behind. While you were waiting for me, you looked so lonely. You had your knees huddled at your chest and you played with the grass, plucking them only to release them and let them flutter away with the wind."

Your mind immediately recalled that moment, causing a smile to grow on your face. You giggled while looking at the picture.

"That's why I drew the tree. That's me. I'll always be beside you and make you happy so that you don't have to throw grass. Instead, you can play with the petals that I've dropped on you." Now you could see the entire picture of the art piece. The splashes of pink on the grass, the lines of green in the sky, and the girl.

"That's why it's called 'Not Alone'."

The title made your heart flutter even more. You weren't just smiling, you were smiling brightly.
You reached your hand into Minghao's pocket and locked your fingers and palm with his. You two continued to stare at his art, your head on his shoulder.

"It's gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful." You tightened your hand around his. "Every time I look at it, I get flutters."

Minghao smiled at your comments, even slipping a giggle. With your warm hand in his, he was once reminded that you were a perfect art. His muse.

He felt blessed, like a splash of the perfect color painted his life's canvas.
