--------------

Two months had passed.

Since he first met you, everything had been different.

Some called Jihoon a genius but he was just a fool in his eyes, writing songs about a love he never even had; that was how he spent most of his days. Whether the ideas came from a dream, drama, anime, or something else he saw or just randomly thought of, Jihoon could make any kind of beautiful love song.

He had never even been in a relationship. Now that you came along, into his life, he didn't want to miss the chance. It was not just the chance to have a relationship title but also to love. The only love he ever had, for someone else romantically, ended bittersweetly. He didn't want to let this chance go.

When he met you at the record shop, you were so beautiful, picking out records that no one seemed to play anymore, you caught his eye immediately. You had your body bent at a 90-degree angle while you poked through the wooden shelves. Music played lightly through the speakers, bouncing on the walls of the retro record shop.

Jihoon had always been, secretly, a hopeless romantic that wasn't very hopeful in finding love.

He couldn't tell what went through your mind when you asked him for help on choosing what record to pick. Jihoon was just looking through old 19th-century music records because of his new interest for this style when you walked up to him, holding up two different vintage record albums.

“Excuse me, but may I ask for your opinion on what to buy?” You had asked after tapping his shoulder had caused him to turn around.

“Me?” Jihoon replied questionably, pointing to himself.

You let out a charming chuckle and nodded while saying, “Yes, you.”

Jihoon took a long look at each of the records. Both were from artists he never heard of before. He was growing nervous on picking, glancing from the records to your face that had on an awaiting smile and twinkle in your eyes.

In the end, he said, “Sorry, I don't actually have a lot of knowledge in this field to pick.”

With a slight disappointment on your face, you put down the records. “What a shame, too bad I can only buy one. Thank you for your time though...”

Jihoon was about to apologize again when you said, “How about picking a number, 1 or 2?”

“2.”

You smiled softly and took one of the two records. You thanked Jihoon and put the other one back. Jihoon watched as you walked to put one of the records away and as you went to check out by the counter.

Jihoon stayed frozen for a while, his pale and elegant hand resting on the shelf in front of him. When he heard the bell of the door jingle, signaling a departure or arrival, Jihoon finally made his way toward the record that you left behind.
