"I read or you read, munchkin?" She questioned, but she only returned with a handful of babbles that Sage simply nodded and picked both the book and pup up from the floor before settling in the corner of the couch.

Remus was eyeing the whole interaction, seeing Ronan very interested in what his mom and sister were doing called for him to come and join.

With the witches coming soon, it was indeed a slow morning and it was surely the reason that the pups were not used to their parents being home this long.

They were enjoying every second of it.

The smile on his mate's face however indicated just what book it was, whomever had gifted the book had been a genius—Sage was just as interested in it as the pups were.

And to think she hardly read at a second-grade level, now she was reading fluently with emotion and character. It made it difficult for him to really focus on his own work, which he opted out of and joined the family snuggle pile as Sage was just opening up to the first page.

"'I start in darkness, and my nose tells me everything I need to know. I have a brother. Sharp. Bigger than me, and all growl. I have sisters. Pounce, who loves to wrestle, and Wag, who talks with her tail. And best of all, my brother Warm, who likes to curl up under my chin, the only pup that is smaller than me..." (A Wolf Called Wander)

Sage had read up to the third chapter when the phone had started to ring at the table, Remus had been the one to go and answer it. The witches were on their way—In cars.

Which confused Remus and it certainly passed onto Sage after she heard the news.
In the past, the coven would always come in their bird form.

What was the reason for cars?

After the call, the others began trickling in. It made sense that the Beta's and Delta's were present while Shawn and Jesse manned the packhouse.

In their place were Blake and Raven, and the smile on the witch's face was easily contagious to her mate and of course the Luna herself. The morning was so calm that the sweet smell of witches was hardly any different.

But a part of her felt unnerved, especially since Aurelia had such a grim face. It caused Sage to pout and hold Rue closer to her chest, but in the record of seeing two lively little pups being exposed to something as sweet as witches, the distance look Birdie had vanished.

If not for a moment or two.

"Alright, so what're we looking at?" Jackson said clapping his hand, and thus the meeting began. The way this specific bullet was designed was to ensure a slow and painful death, that shooting close to the heart would be fatal since the silver is attracted to the blood in such a way that it acts as a fertilizer.

Making it impossible to get it out.

"Ma'am, I watched my Luna with my own two eyes heal her father and Remus..." Raven's heart began to speed up, and whatever the witches in the room were doing—Silently communicating—Whatever, is caused Hayes to growl.

"You claimed to have answers about my daughter. Speak up." Aurelia had been staring down at the Luna's feet for quite some time before she turned to look at the others who gave her a gentle nod. This ultimately allowed the Coven Mistress to move forward as she reached into the small pouch into her belt and held up what could only be described as ash.

But the closer it came to Sage, she hissed.

The noise had shocked the wolves in the room as it surely was not the shout or cry of a she-wolf, at first she clapped her hands over her ears and started to sob. Remus was only left to watch, stunned as to what happened while Raven managed to take Rue from getting hurt in the process.
