It was noon and Potter manor was a buzz but in the silence of the kitchen sat a just woken up Sirius Black over a cup of tea
He had done it he had left , he was going to be disowned he knew it and it would be his mother who would do it he knew it
A soft humming followed by the back door being opened and an cheery Marlene McKinnon who had a tray of something caught his attention
"Merry Christmas McKinnon" he said
"Merry Christmas Black......Black?? Sirius!??"
Marlene tossed the tray onto the table and stared in bewilderment in front of her sat Sirius Black......a shirtless just woken up Sirius Black
"Oh my MERLIN!!" Marlene threw her arms around him it had been weeks since they'd talk and frankly she had missed him
"What are you doing here- no that's stupid!! I mean di- are you hurt you look tired and-
Sirius cut her off by placing his lips on hers
"I'm fine" he whispered leaning his forehead on hers
Marlene was confused a week days ago they weren't talking and now he kissed her
"Sir- oh
Marlene whipped around to see Euphemia by the door
"Marlene Merry Christmas love" Euphemia said
"Merry Christmas Mia" Marlene said hugging the older woman
"Oh Sirius there's someone here to see you"
"Me?"
"Yeah"
Sirius nodded getting up and leaving the kitchen grabbing a shirt as he did
Euphemia looked at Marlene with a raised eyebrow making her blush
"Stop"

In the living room James Potter stood scowling
"He- Uncle AL!!"
Sirius tossed himself into the arms of Alphard who held on tight to him
"I left I had t-
"I know.....I know"
Sirius pulled away from the embrace and looked at him in disbelief
"No! What are you doing here?!? If they know they'll di-
"No they won't" Alphard said nonchalantly
"Wh- Al what did you do??"
"I was given a choice and I made mine" Alphard said with a slight smile
"But whe- wha-
"I have a one way ticket to France courtesy of Aunt Cassiopedia"
"Y-your leaving??"
"Yes I was going to break the news at lunch an- none of that matters" Alphard said waving his hand dismissively
"I had to tell you and I also wanted to give you something" Alphard said pulling out a key
"It's the key to your vault.....and I added an extra five thousand to it" Alphard said looking at Sirius who gingerly took the key
"Wh-
"Sirius I'm going to France where Cassiopedia has the original family estate I don't even have to lift a finger"
Sirius nodded
Alphard sighed and wrapped his arms around Sirius while his hand cradled the back of his head
"I'am so proud so you" he said pulling away and looking at Sirius
"Have a merry Christmas......Fleamont, Euphemia.......James"
"I'll write to you.......maybe" Alphard said walking to the door
"Oh! He doesn't shut up about you Miss McKinnon and I must say I understand why" Alphard said with a wink before closing the door behind him
Sirius cringed smacking his face against the palm of his hand while James and Fleamont snickered
"So I'm a topic of discussion??" Marlene asked no one in particular making Euphemia let out a giggle
"Wh- no that man is insane!! Don't listen to a thing he says!"
"Okay let's move to the drawing room the McKinnon's will be here shortly" Euphemia said watching as everyone moved to the next room
A tap on the window caught her attention it was an owl
A black one
