Hayley's POV
I made my way home with an occupied brain. Elijah seemed distracted which was super useful because I couldn't answer his questions when I was this unsure.

Kai had been my only support since the past week and Elijah was the only thing keeping me sane. Returning to Christian would mean leaving both of them which seems impossible at the moment

Every time I see him my heart flutters, my brain is unable to think of words and my body freezes. This is the effect he has on me.

Tugging Elijah into bed and calling it an early day I headed to my bedroom where soon kai joined me. We didn't speak at all and kai seemed lost.

I gave his hand a gentle squeeze and he tensed. I quickly removed my hand but he caught it. He kept my hand to my heart and I got confused

I gave him a puzzled look and he closed his eyes
"Feel Hayley" I wasn't sure what he meant by that but I closed my eyes slowly and felt my thumping heart

Images of Christian and the moments we spent together flashed through my mind and I instantly opened my eyes to find kai already staring at me.
He nodded as if reading my mind and I stood up.
He was right; I had to talk to Christian.

I quickly hugged him and made my way out of the house eager to see Christian's face. I entered the address and drove

Roughly 20 minutes later I was standing in front of a huge door. I rang the bell and sighed deeply

He opened after a moment and we both froze in our tracks

Kai's POV
When I told Christian that he should talk to Hayley, I knew Hayley wanted the same. For once this felt right.

I went home and saw her disturbed. I knew it was because of Christian even if she wouldn't admit it.

So I did what I had to do. Even if I love her, I would never stop her to do what makes her happy

That is what love makes you do, things you won't do in normal life

Still deep down inside my heart, I could feel the pain of leaving her.

Christian's POV
Those blue eyes that I was in love with stared longingly at me. Without wasting a moment I pulled her to me and cupped her cheeks. She didn't move and her breathing became heavy.

I rubbed her back slowly and her shoulder relaxed. I let her in

I closed the door behind me as she walked to the center of the room and stood still. Her back on my sight

I walked towards her and turned her around
That's when a tear escaped her eye. I wiped it down with my thumb and caressed her cheek. She held my hand in hers and looked at me as we held each other's gaze

"Hayley-"before I could say anything further she closed the gap between us

Totally unexpected, not that I am complaining.

I kissed her back with the same intensity and she wrapped her arms around me.

I pulled back with heavy breathing and rested my forehead against hers.

"What happened Christian?"

I held her hand and guided her to a chair and then, told her everything

She listened without interrupting and after I was done she didn't speak

I nudged her shoulder and she looked at me warmly

"Where is Katherine?"

"Is that really important?" she let out a small laugh and it warmed my heart

I pulled her in my embrace suddenly sure of everything and hoped to stay like this forever
