Epilogue

I couldn't describe what I felt in that moment. Confusing? Joy? Sadness? Or all three? It's the end of an era, all over again.

Sometimes, I think about what could've been in another life, if the war never happened. Would me and the girls, or even Moxie for that matter, even have met? Would it happen at a later date? But when I snap back to reality, I put those thoughts aside. they're not important now.

This isn't the world I wanted, but it's the one I found myself in. The Furnited States of America: my home. Torn to shreds by war and sewn back together.

When I was dragged into this war, I wanted, I planned, to continue my career in the military, killing any stragglers, and serve my country, to protect the ones I love.

But I know better now. I can't continue this path. I have too much to lose now. Although  readjusting to Society after a lifetime of war will be challenging. This time, I'm not alone. This time, I'm ready.

Because I know fear.
