Chapter 19

Malakai's POV
In the car I sat in the middle of Christian and Elizabeth. Rose sat in the passenger seat.

"Are mom and dad coming?"

"I asked but they said it should just be us. Plus I think they want a break for you guys. I'm sure Rose's parents do too."

"Oh she-"

"Oh I don't live with my parents."

"So where do you live?"

"I live with Mal. My parents are divorced and my mom disowned me. My step dad is a piece of you know what. My brother lives on his own. I'm not allowed to talk about it until the court case is done."

"I thought you were allowed to talk about it."

"It's not a story kids should hear anyway."

Elizabeth asked what happened to my leg.

"Uh am I allowed to tell her?"

"Depends. Didn't you mention a shark yesterday?"

"Uh maybe?"

"Just don't freak her out."

"Just don't talk about when you..ya know..game over."

Hannah pulled over.

"YOU DIED AND NO ONE TOLD ME?!"

"Well we weren't on speaking terms."

"Holy hell Malakai."

She started driving again.

"He gave me a damn heart attack. Sixty chest compressions later he decided to wake up."

"Um hello? I drowned! That wasn't my fault!"

"You waved to me!"

"Well..I thought I was dying!"

"By the way I hope the shark is dead!"

"If it's not dead then it's probably blind. I did put my fingers in it's eyes. Oh and I punched the nose."

"My hands were in it's gills."

"Is that how it let me go the second time?"

"DID YOU JUST SAY "THE SECOND TIME"?!"

"Yeah. It let me go and then grabbed me again. We weren't that far away from the shore."

"You're flipping lucky we weren't that far!"

After Hannah parked we got out of the car and walked into the restaurant. We had to wait for a table. A few minutes after we sat down at a table Adrian started calling me.

"I'll be right back."

I walked outside. Our table is easy to find since it's right by the window I was standing in front of.

*Phone Call with Adrian*

"Did you do it yet?!"

"Do what?"

"Ya know! Next label after "girlfriend" that!"
