Chapter 7

Malakai's POV

"Hi Mal!"

"Uh morning? Is there a particular reason why you decided to wake me up?"

"We're going to the beach today remember? The guys are meeting us there."

"You should know I lied about saying I'd go."

"Come on! Get up!"

"Do I have to?"

"Mhm!"

I got up and got ready then my mom drove us to the beach. When we got there we started looking around for the guys.

"I see Blake."

"It's about time you two got here!"

"I really do not want to be here."

"Too bad!"

I put a towel down then laid on it.

"What are you doing?"

All six of them picked me up.

"Put me down!"

"No! You're getting in the water!"

They brought me over to the ocean and threw me in. I got up and they started dragging me deeper into the water.

"You can let me go now. I give up."

They let me go and we all started splashing each other.

"Did you guys feel that?"

"Feel what?"

"Stop fucking around."

"I'm not!"

I felt someone brush against my leg.

"He's not messing around. I just felt it. It was probably just a fish or someth-"

Something grabbed me. I started looking around and I saw my leg was in a shark's mouth. I punched the nose and it let me go. Then it came back. It grabbed my leg again.

SHIT! WHAT IS IT?!

Oh god I'm drowning!

I stopped to think. I stared into its cold dead eyes. Then it hit me.

The eyes!

I took two fingers and jammed them into the eyes. I held them there until it let me go. I looked up then saw Rose was swimming towards me.

Why won't it let me go!

Come on!

Spit me out!

Come on!

I twisted my fingers. I feel my blood pounding behind my eyes. I feel the water filling up my throat. I took my fingers out and just looked at Rose. I cupped Rose's face and pressed our foreheads together. My body is shutting down. I looked up at Rose and saw nothing but panic in her eyes.

This is it.

I waved to Rose.
