Chapter 4, Part I

Start from the beginning

Madoka: True. But he did open up another floor. Should we go investigate it?

Ayane: Well, I suppose.

Souta: Yes. We'll find something there.

Monokuma: Yes, go ahead and see what's up there! See ya all later! Upupupu~

Before we knew it, we had left Monokuma behind and made our way to the staircase on the third floor, which has had the tape removed overnight, allowing access to the fourth one above it.

Ayane: And now, group plans. Me and Daigo will be keeping a very close eye on you, Madoka. Do you understand?

Madoka: (sarcastically) Yes, I do...

Ayane: Kaiji, keep Souta and Yukiharu in check, okay?

Kaiji: I'll try my best...

Souta: Hmm... Yukiharu?

Yukiharu: Don't go and annoy me. That's all I have to say.

Souta: Right, then! Off we trot!

Kaori: And this means I'm with Umiko and Hirou?

Ayane: Sounds like it.

Umiko: Well... Kaori and Hirou are rather nice...

Hirou: It's all settled. Let's go.

We ran up the staircase together, and then split off once again in our allocated groups to go search every nook and cranny of the floor.

----

After a brief moment to check the classrooms located on the floor - again, nothing worth talking about aside from desks and tables and whiteboards - we came across what appeared to be the hub of this new abode. In the art gallery, we quickly regrouped with Kaiji, Souta and Yukiharu.

The art gallery looked rather cozy enough, with a plain light brown floor coupled with comfortable grey and blue armchairs. Umiko and Hirou quickly seated themselves for a moment on the armchairs, and they seemed to appreciate the sensation. What a relief.

There were a few sculptures. The one that came to my mind first, and proved to be rather crucial later down the road, was one of what appeared to be an antique, medieval, golden goblet. There was even what appeared to be a liquid, plum in colour, in it, to simulate wine. I was about to dip my finger in it to see if it was truly authentic, but...

Kaiji: Don't ruin it! It's priceless art!

So I didn't. Obviously.

But the most striking attractions were, of course, the paintings hung up on the grey walls.. One was a picture of a man, a woman and their two children. It was labelled "Happy Family". Another picture was of a male soldier facing off against countless other soldiers. That was labelled "The Last Stand". But the most unusual one was a picture of a mirror - and it functioned like one too, as I could see my own reflection, pink-teal eyes and all. The label beneath it simply said "Mirror".

Hirou: This appears to be the centre of this floor, am I right?

Yukiharu: Well, duh.

Kaiji: I've already went ahead and checked where the hallways end up at. The west entrance leads to an art studio, the north to the staircase to the fifth-

Yukiharu: Is it blocked off?!

Kaiji: Of course it is.

Yukiharu: Fuck.

Souta: What a bummer.

Kaiji: (sigh) As I was saying, the east entrance leads to a shooting range, and the south entrance is where we came from.
