Aesira

I started collecting the cards and chips that were displayed all over the table. Some of the men began to leave and few stayed to play again. I was glad that I now got the hang of it. I felt confident in what I was doing.

"Asera" my eyes rolled at the voice that approached the still in front of me. I was getting used to the regulars, I knew enough about them that I could engage in a conversation with them.

"Still not right Omar" I scrunched my face and started shuffling the cards in my hands. Omar groaned with a huge smile breaking onto his face. "A-sear-a" I pronounced it to him for what felt like the millionth time. Omar usually came three or two times a week, just on the weekend.

"Oh," he hit his head knowingly and laughed at himself. I smiled but didn't laugh. "What did I even say?"

"As-er-a"

"Oh!" his voice got louder, I shook my head amused by this man. "How are you today?" he asked.

I shrugged my shoulders and replied. "I'm ok. And you? How's the husband and daughter?" I asked him. Every time I spoke to him he'd tell me something interesting about his life. I usually wouldn't care for such things but his life was actually interesting.

"Great, Leo took Indica to her first ballet practice" more people started sitting down and filling up the stools.

"Ballet? Is she any good?" I questioned him as well as getting everyone. I glance over at Athena and see her smiling and laughing with a few people. Everyone seemed to enjoy and admire her presence. She was always likeable.

"She barely knows how to walk, Leo's all about her in a tutu and her hair in a cute bun. I have to admit though those pink outfits are to die for"

"My wife did the same, my daughter's three and all she does at her dance lessons is jump in one spot" the man beside him butted in while placing his cards on the table. Multiple whines were let out along with a deep laugh be shared.

"Waste of our money if you ask me," Omar said placing his cards down as well. My mind started to wander off from their conversation and I started looking around the casino casually.

The whole place was loud and crowded and yet I still managed to catch Damon's eyes instead of the number of other ones. He was sitting ever so casually in his regular spot. His hair is perfectly done and fluffy which fitted his whole vibe. The simple colourless outfit he wore climbed to his muscular body.

Damon's head laid in the palm of his hand and his eyelids slightly squinting. He was surrounded by multiple people yet his attention remained on me. I hated that out of everyone I found myself catching his stare from across the room.

"Ah-ha" Omar laughed loudly which drew my attention back to them. He opened his arms and brought all the chips in the middle towards him. They all let out words and sounds of annoyance. I smiled knowing that he usually won, almost every time. Damn, he was good.

"Good job" I clapped my hands together in appreciation of Omar's win. He fist-pumped in triumph and did a mini dance. I checked the waistband of my skirt and secretly checked the time on my phone. "Well my shift ends soon," I said tucking in my shirt and brushing down my skirt.

"So soon?" one of the men complained.

"I was started much before you came"

"You can't stay longer?"

"I could. But I don't want to" I shrugged my shoulders. Why would I want to stay longer than I already have to?

"I can take over now if you want" Jaylia came up from behind and offered. I nodded my head thankful and started walking away. "Hey boys," she said seductively immediately heightening their interest.
