The morning after the birth of the dragons and the melting of the Iron Throne, the two Targaryens, their knights, their armies, and their dragons had left for Winterfell. The Dothraki and Ser Jorah were riding to Winterfell, while the Targaryens, the Unsullied, Jon and the knights sailed to White Harbor, and they would ride from there to Winterfell. It took them a fortnight to reach White Harbor, and another 10 days to reach Winterfell.

Jon insisted that Dany and Rhaella rode with him, but Rhaella only rode with them for part of the way; once they were close to Winterfell, against Jon's wishes, the princess had dismounted her horse and climbed into Rhaegon's back. During their travels the Targaryen twins always had one of the hatchlings on their shoulders, or arms. One of the hatchlings was deep blue as the sea, they had named her Aemax, for one of the beings worshiped of Old Valyria, and the grey one with silver scales was named Jaehaeron , named after one of the greatest kings of the Targaryen dynasty. So when Rhaella climbed on Rhaegon's back, her silver was wrapped in between her furs and fur coats, staying warm and protected during the flight.

Ever since they docked in White Harbor the princess had been in a bad mood, she worried about the Army of the Dead, and personally, she hated the cold, and she could tell the dragons did too. Once the Unsullied were out of sight Rhaella decided it was time to fly towards Winterfell.

Queen Daenerys Targaryen rode side by side with Jon on the road to Winterfell, she could see the castle while they rode through Winter Town, half of the Unsullied marched in front of them, and the other half marched behind them with the Dothraki. Jon and Rhaella had warned the Khaleesi the northerners were not welcoming of outsiders, especially Targaryens. As they rode the northerners stood right by the road to see those outsiders, and Dany saw how the people were looking at her and her people. She felt terrible, these were her people too, and she wanted them to trust her, but that feeling quickly faded away once loud roars were heard. As the people screamed and gasped in awe, the Queen looked to her left, seeing her five children flying towards the castle, and Jon noticed how Dany's posture changed, she had a proud smile on now, she sat straight and was not affected by the looks the people were giving her.

Sansa Stark stood in the castle's courtyard, with her were all of the Northerner Lords, and the other Lords that had agreed to help them, and the air was so tense she felt she could not breathe. It was never good when Targaryens rode north, and most of the Starks' bannerman were not happy about Jon bending the knee. The silence of the courtyard was soon broken when two rides came into the courtyard with Stark banners, and soon, what Lord Yohn Royce never thought he would see again happened, two Unsullied marched in with Targaryen banners, and just the sight of the red three headed dragon made all of the Lords and Ladies feel uneasy, well, all but Lady Lyanna Mormont.

Soon enough more Unsullied marched in and two horses entered the courtyard. Jon rode first, desperate to see his brother, whom he thought was dead, and while Sansa's attention was on her brother as well, everyone else's eyes were on the silver headed Queen that rode right after Jon. She was beautiful, yet they did not trust her, but what made the people gasp in awe was when she got closer they could see, in contrast with her white fur coat, a deep blue hatchling sat on her shoulder, and once the Queen had dismounted the horse and waited for Jon, the little beast raised itself on its legs, spread its wings and sang, it sang so loudly everyone in the courtyard turned towards the Targaryen Queen, who smiled and held herself proudly.
