Well, while Kat's story is over, Essa's story is just starting.

Here's what I want to say about naming these characters...

So, for Scar (Scarlett), in the first book it was mentioned that they basically hated her, right? So, they did jobs for the dark side, like helping Palpatine, this was when Scar was really young, so she didn't remember Palpatine in the phantom menace. They usually wore red clothing, Scar's parents, so they found it fitting to name her Scarlett. Then, due to the amount of mental, emotional and physical scars she had, she was nicknamed Scar and it stuck.

Katerina (Kat) SCAR Skywalker/Kope: Her middle name was obviously from her mother... But the reason why she used Kat instead of Katerina wasn't just because she preferred it. It was because she knew her mother used a short form of her name, so she wanted to honour her mom by reducing her name.

Essa Krey Solo/Kope: Now, the middle name is a mix of Kat and Frey, her mom and uncle's names... Which I kind of went further into detail of because she has anxiety attacks like Frey, but she'll act more like her mother, such as hiding it or being "violent" or some other coping tool. Now her first name is taken from her grandfather, Lennox Skywalker. How? Here's Lennox's full name: Lennox Esso Skywalker. And this could be just a minor similarity, but both Lennox and Essa get nicknamed by the first couple of letters of their first names by their best friend. Poe calls her Es, and Padme and Anakin would call Lennox Len.

The Third (and last) book of the stars series has been published and is Protecting Stars.
