"Truce!" I scream out from the floor, currently being tickled to death by Josh & Willis. Neither of them listen, instead continuing to use their deadly fingers. "Dillon?" Looking around with my now watery eyes, I see him laughing above us on the green couch.

"Sorry Lex," he grins down at me, amusement shining through his dark sea blue eyes. "But it's too funny." Narrowing my eyes in mock seriousness, I bring my gaze back to the two boys surrounding me. I silently give a small nod at them, hoping that they each get my drift to go after Dillon. They exchange a glance before they shrug & return to tickling me, resulting in my squeal of terror.

"Ice cream!" I scream, instantly grabbing the attention of the young boy to my left.

"What flavor are you going to get Lexi?" Willis asks as we walk down the sidewalk from our parked car to the ice cream parlor. "I know Dillon will get the minty chocolate extreme & Josh the manic mango like always."

"Hmm.. I'll have to see what they have, I've never been here before," I reply, looking around the busy street. My eyes wander over til they land on a black car that just parked on the curb beside us, the windows tinted so I can't see through. Shrugging it off, I bring my gaze back to a beaming Willis, who's currently riding Dillon's back.

After we get our cones we all sit down at a table inside, enjoying the cool air conditioning wrapping us in it's arms. Bringing my tongue to lick the strawberry creamy goodness in front of me, my ears perk up as I hear Hunter's voice come alive on the radio.

"Somebody's boyfriend.." Dillon teases me, trailing off at the end. My cheeks heat up as Josh's wide eyed gaze turns toward me.

"Hunter Hayes fan are we?" He asks, raising an eyebrow as a small smirk appears on his face.

"You could say that..." I tilt my mouth to the side, not knowing what to tell him.

"He's literally her boyfriend," Dillon explains for me. Josh turns to look at him a moment before looking back at me.

"Insane fan then?"

"They both come from the same town man, they were besties before they started going out," he retorts, venom lacing his tone. I fumble with my fingers nervously as I recall when I told him about Hunter being a famous musician. He warned me that I could end up with a broken heart.

I bring my eyes back to the guys. Willis is just ignoring us all as he enjoys his sweet treat, Dillon's failing at hiding his random irritation, & Josh is back to looking at me wide eyed.

"You're legit dating Hunter Hayes?" I nod, trying to contain my smile. I am legit going out with Hunter Hayes.

"Well how does that work out? He lives in Nashville & you live here in Florida..."

"Well he's about to go on tour.. & he's got a stop here.." I answer, knowing that my voice is not filled with as much confidence as I hoped for. I was so excited about finally being with the love of my life, it never even occurred to me that I still wouldn't be with him. Not really. I had used the tour as the excuse of not seeing him, but what happens when it ends? When we'll still be living states apart? Would I go back home, & leave my new friends behind? Pain suddenly fills my chest as I realize how hard that would be. I've gotten so close to Dillon & Kristy, I can honestly say they're my best friends. & Miami itself, it's no Breaux Bridge, but Lord knows how much I've come to love this place.

Josh shakes his head, doubt clear as day on his face about our relationship working out. & hell, what'll happen when Hunter realizes what I just have?

"I'm sorry to say it, but someone's got to," Josh begins, giving me a soft yet serious look. "Unless you leave Florida, there's no way in hell your relationship is going to survive. Hunter's a guy, which means he has needs. Needs that living states apart won't give him. He'll either cheat, or he'll just let you go." I hear him grunt, & look up to see Dillon's hand return from smacking him in the head.

"Hunter's not like that," I argue, looking him straight in the eye with full confidence now.

"Think about it. He's a famous singer. Girls are always going to be all over him, ready to take your place. Don't you think it's better to let him go now before it's too late?"

"Shut up Josh," Dillon almost shouts, glaring at him. But his words echo in my mind, like a hot iron branding it in my mind.

'Girls are always going to be all over him, ready to take your place. Don't you think it's better to let him go now before it's too late?' Too late? It's already too late. I've been in love with him for years. If anything does happen, there's seriously no way I could ever bounce back.

I trust Hunter. But who could have a relationship states apart? For who knows how long? That's not fair for Hunter.

"Ignore him," Dillon's voice awakens me from my thoughts. "You guys will figure a way through it. No relationship is perfect, there are always some kinks." His words do help me some, giving me a little reinsurance. A small smile creeps on my face, letting them know I'm fine. The time will come when Hunter & I will talk this out. Til then, we're doing just fine talking on the phone every day.

But still, a part of me wonders; is he fine with it?

*I HAVE IDEAS FOR THIS STORY. MWAHAHAHA. Let me tell ya, things are going to get VERY interesting if I decide to stick with my plans. >;) But no worries, one of the upcoming chapters will be in Hunter's POV so we know what's going on with him.*
