Chapter 29: Whirling Chaos

"No," he dropped you instantly.

Your group was the first to go in. Quirk usage was permitted for the scares and defense, and since you were on alert with sense mode, you could detect every trap class B had set for you.

"Guys, shut up shut up," you hissed, pointing to a bush in front of you. "Act scared."

Apparently, scared was not in their vocabulary.

"Oh?"

"Oh?"

"Oh?"

The duo asked as soon as they approached the trap. You doubled over laughing at the sight of class B's faces.

"Well what was I supposed to do? Oh save me Y/N-Chan, I think a villain got me!" Katsuki dramatically fell on top of you, only increasing your laughter.

"Is that not how you act scared? Well, I'll improve my acting for next round then," Shoto wondered.

"You guys- you guys'll be the death of me," you wheezed out.

"Y/N-San, we're training to be heroes, not killers," Todoroki obviously stated.

So their acting skills weren't the best.

But Bakugo's prediction skills were.

Out of nowhere, brilliant blue flames surrounded the forest, licking on the tree bark as the heat threatened to burn everything to mere dust and ash.

From the first encounter, you'd definitely walked a few miles and were roughly in the middle of the forest.

"Fuck we've got zero escape," you breathed out as you covered your nose and mouth.

"Can't you fly us out?" Bakugo asked.

"Not unless we get too close to the flames. I'm not risking you two getting carbon monoxide poisoning," you explained.

Then, you noticed a small boy leaned against a tree, seemingly unconscious.

You headed to him, checking for signs of concussions and other injuries.

"Good, he's unconscious," you mumbled out.

"Why's that a good thing?" Todoroki asked, fanning the flames away.

"This'll hurt less," you placed your hand on the boy's chest as it emitted a faint glow. The glow stayed for a couple seconds before fading away. "Carbon monoxide protection layer, straight to the alveoli. Do you want one too?"

The duo agreed, each getting a layer as well. After that, Todoroki picked up the boy and trudged off in the direction of camp to regroup with other students.

Though you didn't get far before you were confronted by a toothy monster.

Todoroki instantly sent a wave of ice before it could bite, though the villain was strong enough to bite through it.

The ice shattered into pieces as the villain's tooth got stuck in the iceberg.

He got his teeth out and nearly managed to lay a cut on Bakugo, only to be stopped by your wind and Todoroki's ice.

"My wind isn't at full power, I don't want to spread the poison gas," you gestured. "Katsuki-kun, limit your explosions. We can't risk more fire."

Bakugo was not happy at being rendered powerless. Neither were you. The top 3 in class now relying only on Todoroki's ice, was weak, no matter how strong and skilled he was at it.

The fight continued in such a manner, Todoroki using his ice and you helping out wherever you could. Overall, the fight was definitely not in your favour.

"Make some light!" You heard Shoji yell as he trudged through the bushes with Midoriya carried on his back.

Your monetary confusion gave Moonfish, as you learned his name was, one last opportunity to attack.

Though he was silenced when Dark Shadow and Tokoyami appeared out of nowhere, practically swallowing the villain.

Once the villain was defeated, Bakugo and Todoroki gave the smallest flames to reduce Dark Shadow to its usual size.

You rushed up to Tokoyami, who seemed dizzy and very apologetic about the situation, confirming that he was safe and had little to no injuries.

Then you met Midoriya's eyes.

"I thought your arms weren't breaking anymore?" You raised an eyebrow.

"Well yes but I-" he tried to explain, but couldn't find the words.

You sighed and took off your shirt, wrapping it around it right arm while he was explaining how to protect Bakugo.

And so, the Bakugo Bodyguard Brigade was formed, with Todoroki and you walking up front, followed by Shoji who was carrying Midoriya, then Bakugo and lastly Tokoyami.

"I don't need your help you damn icy hot!" Bakugo grumbled.

"Listen here you little shit, the villains clearly have a plan to kidnap you. We're trying to prevent it because, knowing you, you'd waltz straight into the trap because you want to fight," you glared at him.

That shut him up long enough.

Somehow the class always got into these mishaps, though they were never this severe. You sighed at the thought of your friend getting kidnapped.

That was all it took to make up your mind: you'd protect him no matter what.
