Hanna's head was swimming. She couldn't remember how she ended up on the side of the road, but there she was, sitting in the driver's seat of Sean's car. Last thing she remembered, she was driving down the highway, crying and ignoring Mona's phone calls. That last A message had been racing through her head, along with Sean's rejection. For a moment, Hanna had thought that maybe Sean was gay, but she pushed it away quickly.
She assessed the damage that had been done. The whole front of Sean's car was totalled, smashed up against a pile of rocks. The car alarm was blaring too loudly in Hanna's head, her neck was sore, but nothing seemed broken. Without a second thought, the gravity of her situation fell on her. A new batch of tears flowed freely from her eyes. Hanna wasn't even trying to stop them.
She got out of the car, grabbing her purse from the passenger seat, and walked away from the crash. Her worst fear was that somehow Wilden would get wrapped up in this too. She would never get rid of him now. Hanna made her way back to the road, determined not to slip on her heels. She had no idea what to do now.
