"I took it," キング tells me. "I wanted to see if it was in the same shape as when I left it."
When you left it?
I raise my eyebrows. "Huh?"
キング looks at me while swinging the necklace gently.
"I mentioned earlier when you were just watching, but now I will go into full detail. This is a special necklace that I blessed. A lucky necklace if you will. Whoever picks it up first is the owner of it, and will be blessed with good luck and fortune. Miracles are also a possibility, memory keeping, and holding, etcetera, etcetera." he elucidates.
"But, I didn't pick it up first, my Oji did. So wouldn't that make him the owner?" I asked.
"Ah, it would. But, he gave it to you. The necklace can also be gifted to somebody else and still have the same effects." キング shrugs.
I still had so many more questions, even though I knew we came here for something else.
Emma speaks up now. "Then why was it when Y/n took off the necklace did something bad happen right after?"
The only reason she might be asking is that I'm sure she remembered me taking off the necklace right before Andrew and his men stormed our bunker.
We both waited in anticipation.

"The blessing was temporarily removed in the time Y/n took off the necklace and when she put it back on." キング continues. "The necklace doesn't postpone fate, however. The attack on your bunker would have happened regardless if Y/n kept the necklace on or not. The luck she could have received, however, varies."
I suck in a breath.
If I wore the necklace and kept the blessing, does that mean Yuugo and Lucas could have survived?
キング seems to read my mind as he starts talking again. "It is unclear if your friends from the bunker could have lived. Miracles work in mysterious ways, which is why even I do not know the full extent of the blessings I give these necklaces."
キング extends his arm to give me back the necklace through his long and boney fingers. "Here you go, Y/n."
I take back the necklace and put it on, feeling relieved to finally have it back on me.
キング folds his arms. "Now, let's get to the heart of the reason, as to why you both are here right now."
Emma now speaks. "We want to make a new promise," she says.
キング holds up a finger. "Only humans can make a promise." he then looks at me. "However, I sense there is a reason for a demon to be here, so I will let you speak."
Emma now continues talking. "What we want is for all farm kids to be allowed to go to the human world, and make it impossible to travel between two worlds." Emma pauses and looks at me.
"But I want a few select demons to be able to go to the human world, and communication for one of them to be possible."
キング leans in as if waiting for her to continue some more.
"I want a little girl named Maeve and my friend Y/n to be able to go to the human world, Y/n being allowed to still contact her family and comrades, Sonju and Mujika."
キング stays silent for a few seconds.
"I shall grant this wish," he answers. he then points to both of us.
"And the reward I want for doing so is..." he continues.
Emma and I both widen our eyes in shock and horror.
I guess my lucky necklace really can't postpone this sort of twisted fate...
