"I'm going to the Library."
Lumine watched as Kody walked bitterly out of the cafeteria.
"Are we allowed to eat in the Library?" Elijah asked.
"No," Calla responded.
Elijah shrugged, and went on to chat about something else with Calla.
Lumine stared at the sandwich in his hands. Somehow, this felt a lot lonelier than when he was sitting by himself.
Elijah and Calla were arguing about something, laughing. Lumine quietly grabbed his bag and got up from the table. Neither of them noticed, and Lumine quickly walked to the door.
Once in the hallway, Lumine let out a breath of relief. It wasn't that he didn't like Elijah and Calla- He really hoped to become their friend! But he couldn't help but feel out of place. They seemed to be really close. Lumine never really had anyone his own age that he could be close like with- he didn't know how to do it, he realized.
He decided. If there was going to be one thing he'd do while in Solefore, it would be that. To make a friend. A proper friend, like Elijah and Calla were. He didn't know where to start, but he could try.
"Um, excuse me!"
The teacher turned around.
"Do you know where the library is?"
