Bella's POV

I closed my computer and got up from my chair, looking at the clock. It was almost 10:00pm, plus, I was tired from my injection. I walked into the living room and found Barrett sitting on the couch, reading a book. I sat down next to her, and she looked over at me. "Hey, Bella! Did you finish your homework?"

 "Yeah." I said, yawning.

"You had a pretty big day today!" She replied.

"The joint injection was really scary. Do I really have to do that every few weeks?"

She looked at me, her eyes sad. "I'm sorry, but it's to keep you healthy."

I sighed, exhausted and nervous. She put her arm around me. "I'm so glad that I found you." She told me.

"Me too." I sat with her for a while until I fell asleep.

Timeskip to the morning

My alarm clock went off and I hopped out of bed, excited for school for once. Today were rehearsals! A little voice in the back of my mind reminded me that I also got to see Carmen. I quickly put on a red shirt, perfect for autumn, and some leggings. I brushed my hair and teeth and ran into the kitchen, grabbing an apple and putting on my shoes.

"Someone's excited to go to school!" Barrett joked, still in her pajamas. "Let me get changed and we can get going." I walked around, waiting impatiently. After what felt like forever, Barrett finally emerged, jingling her car keys. We went down to her car and she started to drive.

"Where are we going?" I asked. "This isn't the way to school!"

"We have a stop to make, first." Barrett said, a twinkle in her eye. She was up to something. We arrived at the August Wilson theatre and she brought me into her dressing room. She opened the bottom drawer of the desk she and Kerry shared and pulled something out. "Close your eyes." She instructed. I felt her place something in my hands. It was flat and smooth. I opened my eyes.

"What is this?" I asked, confused. In my hands was a 3 ring binder. It was black, with tiny gold sparkles.

"This is one of my most prized possessions." Barrett told me. "It's the binder I used for my script when I did my first ever musical."

"And you're giving it to me?"

"It's an honor that you'll be using it." She smiled. I hugged her tightly.

"I love you!" I exclaimed.

She grinned, her eyes shinning. "Now let's get you to school!"

Timeskip to class

I was in math class and bored out of my mind. Plus, on thing kept nagging me. I couldn't stop thinking about what I had read last night. Sped up heartbeat upon contact can be a sign of a crush.'  I decided to text Cat. She always knew what to say!

Bella felt panicked

Bella felt panicked. What if she wasn't straight? What if she got made fun of? What if her family didn't accept her? But the truth was, deep down, it wasn't others not accepting Bella that was the problem. It was Bella not accepting herself.

AN: Thank you to @chaoticgeek for writing this chapter with me! This is partially based off of my own coming out story. I was always very accepting of others, but I had a lot of trouble accepting myself and accepting the fact that I like girls, which is a thing that I'm still working on. Happy Mean Girls day!
