The young nurse laughed back and shyly nodded.

Mo Yeon was sleeping when she heard her doorbell ringing. Groaning, she tried to get up from her bed when the sounds didn't stop. Still tired from the journey back home and the effect of her pregnancy, slowly she walked into her front door and opened it, only surprised to see her mother behind it.

Mo Yeon blinked. "Mom?"

Mrs. Kang rolled her eyes. "At least, you greet me this time and you're not drunk." She walked inside, leaving her daughter with bewilderment expression.

"What are you doing here, Mom?" Mo Yeon asked while closing the door.

"Is this the way to welcome your mother? You've changed after you get married." Mrs. Kang walked into the dining room and pulled out some vegetables, some drinks, and food from her shopping bag. She pointed to one of Si Jin's pictures. "Your husband looks so handsome in that picture."

"Gosh..." Mo Yeon stroked her hair and blew a breath. "I don't know If I should feel happy or worry my own mother ogles my husband."

Mrs. Kang chuckled and pointed to the chair in front of her. "Come on, sit! You need to eat."

Mo Yeon groaned, but sat nonetheless. "I'm not 6 years old girl anymore, Mom."

"You may look like a married woman, but inside, you're worst than a 6 years old girl." She smiled. "How are you doing? And Si Jin? When will he come home?"

"He still has three more months on his deployment."

"Ah, I see." Mrs. Kang nodded. "So, I made the right decision to come here. You need company."

The doctor raised her eyebrows. "I'm not that lonely, Mom. Besides, I'm going to work the day after tomorrow."

Mo Yeon's mother shrugged. "Make sure you don't get lonely. Have a lot of kids. That means you won't be alone when you're old."

The doctor hid her face between her arms on the table. "My goodness..."

Mrs. Kang only smirked and gave Mo Yeon a bottle of cold drink. "Here's for you."

Mo Yeon's head shot up and stared at the bottle in front of her, realizing three things. One, she was pregnant, two, she hasn't told her mother yet about her pregnancy, and three, why her mother gives her a drink?

Just like Si Jin always say, this is very odd timing.

And odd, it is.

"What?" Mrs. Kang asked when she saw her daughter's expression.

"What kind of mother who gives her daughter a bottle of drink?" Mo Yeon asked while squinting her eyes.

"You said you're not a 6 years old girl anymore. I think you are past the age to not drink alcohol."

The doctor suddenly turned nervous. "I'm...I'm not really..into drink right now."

"Why?"

And Mo Yeon didn't know how to answer it without revealing about her pregnancy.

"Because I don't want to?"

Mrs. Kang tilted her head and looked at her daughter closely. Mo Yeon looked like she just woke up, but something was amiss with her. Her motherhood instinct kicked in.

"Is there something wrong with you that I don't know of?"

Mo Yeon suddenly turned defensive. "No."

"I don't believe you."

"I'm telling you the truth, Mom."

"Is it about the incident in WHO meeting? Are you having a trauma?"
