Traveling Home

A thousand destinations I can name,

Where my heart yearns to be,

Destinations I see in a picture, cities with frames,

Every glance binds me and sets me free

I dream of Istanbul

Istanbul, a thousand cities rolled up in one,

Istanbul, a city of fog and clarity,

Istanbul, a city of the thousand suns,

Istanbul, a city of secularity and sincerity

I dream of Paris

Paris, the city of love and heartbreak,

Paris, the city of illusions,

Paris, the city of lust and mistakes,

Paris, the city of dreams and delusions

I dream of London

London, a city of fog and rain,

London, a city hidden in the mist of history,

London, a city of balls and champagne,

London, a conflicted city of mystery

I dream of New York

New York, the city of prisons and freedom,

New York, the city of light,

New York, the city that houses the living's mausoleum,

New York, the city wreathed with a thousand stars in endless night

Yet, in the end, I always dream of home

Home, where my roots are,

Home, the city of my memories,

Home, it's never too far,

Home, my refuge of dreams and reveries

What's your favorite travel destination and why? I actually wrote this poem cause my stories' demographics actually notified me that we had new readers from Canada, the Philippines, and India and I wanted to mention new places in my poem. Still waiting for Istanbul and Paris!

Don't forget to add this book to your reading lists, and also recommend it on other channels!

Love,
