Fired

Malamlam ang mga mata ni Xeldre habang nakatulala sa pinto ng kwarto ni Jp here in the Hospital. Marahang dumadausdos ang mga luha niya sa kanyang namumulang pisngi while sobbing silently. Her fingers clasped as she bent down and prayed fervently. She prays that John Paul, who is now in the ER, will be in good health.

She didn't know what the man who tried to rape her to make Jp look like this, all she knew is that Jp's condition is severe so the nurse from the resort's clinic that they went, suggested to take Jp to the nearest Hospital. Hindi naman kasi isa-suggest ng nurse na dalhin ito sa pinakamalapit na Hospital kung hindi malubha ang natamo nito.

"Hush now anak."   marahang hinagod ng kanyang ina ang kanyang likod.

Her whole family is here, ibinalita kaagad ni Vanelopie ang nangyari sa kanila ni Jp kani-kanina lang. She really has no intention of letting her family know about the trouble they were involved in earlier because she didn't want them to worry about her. But even before she warned Vanelopie, the latter had already said to her family what had happened.

"Mom, how can I stop crying if Jp is unconcious!? This happened to him because of me!"   she burst into cry.

Hindi naka-imik ang ina niya marahil sa naging pagsagot niya. Samonte siblings really do not answer back or rebuke their parents especially since their mother is strict, they were just children when they were taught good manners. But for now, she could not stop herself from raising her voice at her mother because she feels extremely worry.

"I'm sorry daughter. Ayaw ko lang na makita kang umiiyak ng ganyan."   malungkot ang boses na humingi ito ng pasensya sa kanya, and that made her feel sorry for being disrespectful.

"I'm sorry Mom, I shouldn't shout on you."   niyakap niya ang kanyang ina bago isinandig ang ulo sa dibdib nito.

"It's okay. I'm actually happy that you have finally found the right man for you."

Napangiti siya at gumaan kaagad ang kanyang pakiramdam nang marinig ang sinabi ng ina niya ngunit pagkaraan ay natigilan siya at nanlalaki ang mga mata humiwalay ng yakap sa kanyang ina at napatitig rito. There was a wide smile on her Mom's lips while her forehead was furrowed. What is her Mommy telling her this time? Napa-iling na lamang siya at napa-ayos ng upo.

"Mom, kung ano-ano na naman iyang pinagsasasabi mo."   bumusangot ang mukha niya pero kahit papaano ay gumagaan na ang loob niya.

"Anak, alam ko ang mga sinasabi ko. And I know that you're falling in love with him."

"What!? Mom, stop it!"  namumula ang kanyang pisngi pero tumawa lang ito.

"Anak, aminin mo man o hindi alam kong nahuhulog na ang loob mo kay iho."   hinawakan nito ang kamay niya at pinisil iyon.

"How can you say that Mom?"

"Simple lang, through you. It was the first time you introduced us to Jp but I immediately noticed the strange look on your face. You stare at him as if he is the only one you see, as if he were the only beautiful creature in your sight. Alam mo Xeldre, hindi naman kita basta nalang itutulak sa batang iyon kung alam kong hindi mo naman siya nagugustuhan."   her Mom paused for a moment to breathe.

"Xeldre, anak. Hindi ka naman masasaktan ng ganyan at iiyak ng sobra kung hindi mo siya gusto."

"I don't know Mom, maybe I'm hurting and crying like this because I'm worried about Jp and I'm responsible for him. And maybe it's my fault why he ended up in this situation. Kung sana ay hindi na lamang ako lumabas sa loob ng villa baka hindi ito nangyari sa kanya."
