Winter air...

Huddled by the fire together,
We sit enduring the cold weather.

You gaze distractedly out the window,
Through frosted glass to falling snow.

Breaths misting in the air,
Your sigh contended without a care.

It's dark in here, just candle light,
So dark in fact it feels like night.

My hands are shaking and icy to the touch,
But you hold them like it doesn't bother you much.

A shred of light in this dark place,
Your presence is a saving grace.
