There are rare times when her fake smile,
Feels real for a short while.

But that small smile is soon to fade,
As she thinks of all the mistakes she's made.

It doesn't help when the people she cares for
Think that her mistakes aren't a problem anymore.

But her problems are getting worse, not better,
As she thinks of this reality her eyes get wetter.

But she could never bring herself to give up this lie,
She couldn't bare to have to see them cry.

She's overwhelmed by this sickening guilt,
It manages to destroy the happiness she's built.

She didn't mean to let everyone down,
She tried so hard to not make them frown.

This agonising guilt makes her so upset,
That she continues the very act that she comes to regret.

And so the cycle continues on going,
A girl who lives in pain without anyone knowing...
