- "bonsoir pont"
- "oh you're finally done!" he says with a small roll of his eyes before pecking your lips and taking your hand into his
- "hello to you too y/n" grantaire complains, placing his empty bottle onto the table

- "i'm so sad that you didn't greet me. maybe you could make it up to me?"
- "i'm off work for the rest of the night meaning i can't get you a bottle"
- "damn it. see you." he leaves you and marius at the table
- marius turns to you and smiles "i've missed you"
- you smile and look down to your interlaced hands only to notice a red waistcoat, something that wasn't normally worn by marius
- "what in god's name is that?"
- "what? oh... my waistcoat!"
- "oh pontmercy take it off you look ludicrous"
- he pretends to look offended "ouch! that really hurts my feelings!"
- you pout out a lip and suppress a smile "oh, i'm sorry. have you suddenly gone frail?"

- he shuffles in his seat and rubs his thumb over your hand nervously. "well, the other day you said enjolras' jacket was nice, so..."

- "i bought this red waistcoat hoping it would catch your eye" he looks at you with a slight scrunch of his nose but it falls into a frown when you burst out laughing
- "why-why are you laughing?"
- "i was only saying enjolras' jacket was nice because i was lecturing him to keep it clean and that it would be a shame to see its bright red turn to maroon. oh, but you're adorable!"
- he mouth makes an 'o' and rips off the waistcoat, throwing it off to the side. he connects your hands again and smiles at you gratefully "thank god you hate it because so do i"
- you shake your head and laugh before leaning in to kiss your idiotic but sweet boyfriend
