Combferre POV:
The clock of the café chimed as the hour hit midnight. Today we all celebrated the birthday of Gavroche, who had just recently left with Courfeyrac. Marius, Grantaire and I all sat at a round table near the window of the meeting room.
I was taking a sip out of my beer when Grantaire said
"they're really cozy over there, huh?"
My head turned to Enjolras and Y/n sitting in their usual seats. Enjolras had one of his hands on Y/n's thighs, while the other hung around the back of her chair. They were giggling with each other, a lot.
"Are you surprised? They've been together for, like what?"
"Six years." I answer before taking another sip of the alcohol in my hand.
"Why doesn't he just propose already?" Marius questioned again. Grantaire and I shrugged and turned our heads back to the couple. Enjolras had just whispered something in her ear that made her clap her hands together and laugh. Her head fell into the crook of his neck, smiles still planted on each of their faces.
"Who would have known that Enjolras, of all people, would find love before any of us?"
"Lucky guy." I said. Marius mumbled in agreement. We all continued to watch the couple flirt with each other as if they weren't already together. I smiled fondly as I watched Enjolras take the hand that was around her chair, bring it to her cheek, and kiss her softly.
