12:16 am read Enjolras' pocket watch. Y/n was still not home. He tapped his foot on the floor impatiently and shoved his pocket watch back into his pocket. Y/n then entered her apartment drenched in rain water.

"Bonne nuit Arthur." She laughs and hangs her coat on the coat hanger by the door. "It's really pouring out there, huh?"

He ignores her question. "It's midnight. No. It's past midnight." He crosses his arms.

"I'm sorry. Arthur asked me to work a late shift." He rolls his eyes. "Again y/n? It's the sixth time this week." She sighs.

"I know.. I'm so sorry love-"

"No! You say the same thing every time and it just happens again. Tonight, or yesterday we were supposed to have our anniversary dinner at six. Six! You got here at 12:16! This job of yours is ruining you!" He says while flinging his arms in the air.

"What? That job of mine is what gives me the money I need to help myself and people like Gavroche. It is not ruining me! It makes me feel better about myself because I can say that I make my own money and work hard for what I have." He scoffs at her.

"Sorry Enjolras, not everyone can go to school and get a proper education."

He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose.

"I just... I mean, I don't feel like I even have a girlfriend anymore."

"What? You want me to just quit my job so that you can feel like you've got a girlfriend?" She crosses her arms.

"Is this about Arthur?"

"Oh my God." She says in shock and places her hands over her eyes.

"Okay, it's not, it's not." He looks to the ground.

"Oh my God. I cannot keep having this same fight with you Enjolras! Look, ugh, maybe we should take a break."

"Fine, you're right. Let's uh, let's take a break, " he grabs his jacket and goes to her front door "let's cool off, okay, let's get some coffee, or something.." He opens the door.

"No. A break from us."

Enjolras looks at her and then leaves, slamming the door behind him. She exhales and falls onto her couch with her head in her hands. She then drops her hands to her knees and gets up to write a letter to Arthur, asking for him to come over.

TIME SKIP - Y/n's apartment, Arthur is there opening boxes of chicken, vegetables and bread.

"Then, we had this big, stupid fight, and I said I wanted to take a break, I don't want to take a break." She says as she sits at her kitchen table. There is a knock at the door.

"I got it." She says and pats Arthur's shoulder before leaving the kitchen to get the door. She opens the door to see a wet Enjolras. His golden curls fell flat over his face and drops of water fell from his eyelashes, lips and nose.

"Y/n, I've been thinking, this is crazy, I mean don't, don't you think we can work on this?" She is about to respond until Arthur interrupts from the kitchen.

"Hey, what do you want to drink?"

"Who's that?" He asks with furrowed eyebrows. He starts the lean in to the apartment.

"Nobody." She says with her hands on his chest.

"Is that Arthur?" He says angrily before he pushes himself back out into the hall off the door frame.

"Umm, honey, look he just came over to...." She starts.

"Yeah! Got it!" He yells and then walks down the hall to exit the building.

"Wait, Enjolras. No! You don't understand." He ignores her and slams the front door to her apartment building.

He walks back out into the rain feeling numb and knots forming in his stomach. He decides to go to the pub where he can meet Courfeyrac and Marius. He approaches the building that was filled with the scent of alcohol, the sound of men chatting and light. He took a deep breath and entered the building. He goes straight to the bar and orders every option available. As his fingers grasp his first glass, his mind flashes to his beauty. He squints his eyes and then lets the liquid slide down his throat. He begins to drink away his sorrows. He is about to finish his fourth glass of whiskey when a woman that he recognized from Courfeyrac and Marius' bet, Adele came up to him.

"Hey, come dance." She twirls her red hair around her finger. He shakes his head 'no' and takes another swig of his of drink, finishing it off. He goes to order another until she traces her finger along his bicep.

"What? Are you married? 'Cause that's okay."

He purses his lips together and his mind flashes back to you and Arthur. He slams his money onto the bar table and shrugs before getting up to dance with the girl. She pulls him into a slow dancing position and they start to sway side to side to the music. His head bows to the ground and he frowns.

"Hey" she brushes his curls out his eyes and makes him look at her. "Why the long face?"

Since he was drunk off his ass, he spilled everything about what happened between him and y/n to Adele.

"I just love her so mu-" Adele cuts him off with a kiss.  He raises his eyebrows but then remembers that Arthur is banging his girl, so he kisses her back.
