Premise: Lydia and JJ's first date as a couple! So around the same time as the show!

"Good Morning, beautiful" JJ hummed, Lydia didn't know it yet but he had a whole surprise date planned for them
"Good Morning baby, what's got you in such a good mood" Lydia shifted under the covers
"I was just thinking that today is the perfect day for our first date" JJ played it off, like he had just casually come up with the idea on the spot
"And did you have a plan for this date?" Lydia mused
"Obviously, what am I, some amateur?" JJ scoffed
"So I'll get ready?" Lydia asked
"Bathing suit and a cute dress" JJ ordered
"I kinda like you telling me what to wear" Lydia laughed, "As long as you never tell me what I can and can't wear, we'll be good"
"Never" JJ mumbled into her shoulder, before walking out of the room to prep the supplies
Lydia slipped on a simple purple dress with darker blue flowers on it. She had to admit she was definitely curious to find out what JJ had up his sleeve

JJ had loaded the van he was borrowing from John B for the day, while she got ready.
"You ready?" JJ called as she met him at the door to the chateau
"Yup" She said, popping the 'p'
JJ drove them out to a little patch of beach that he actually drove the van on, slightly. It was empty, just the two of them and the ocean
"Since when do we drive on beaches?" Lydia asked
"I barely did, and trust me, it's worth it" JJ replied, pulling out their surfboards
"You know me so well" Lydia sighed, her face graced with a smile
The two paddled out into the water, taking turns riding waves. Eventually, JJ wanted to see if he could surf with Lydia also on his board
"Let me just remind you that neither of us have tandem surfed and this board is not made for that" She said, tapping his cheeks lightly
"What's the worst thing that could happen" JJ laughed, motioning for her to get on his board with him
"Those are famous last words, you know" Lydia bit her lip, she didn't want JJ seeing how much she actually liked the idea
The two tried for a few hours, only getting up a couple of times, and almost immediately falling over afterward. But they had fun, laughing, and being normal teenagers.
JJ loved watching the way Lydia smiled so hard that it looked like her cheeks hurt, and the way she threw her head back when she laughed. She was so effortlessly beautiful, and he was hooked
"People usually find staring rude" Lydia chuckled, walking to meet JJ on the beach. He had stopped surfing to set up his next surprise
"I can't help it, my girlfriend is smoking hot" JJ replied
"You ready to head back?" Lydia asked, seeing as it was almost sunset
"I have one last trick up my sleeve" JJ smiled, throwing her the dress she had discarded while they swam
He led her back to the van, and popped open the trunk. He had completely redone the back, filling it it with blankets and pillows, a few string lights, and a laptop, which was already open to netflix
"You didn't think you were getting out of this date without snuggles, did you?" JJ asked sarcastically
"I was hoping not" Lydia smiled, warmly, climbing into the van
They spent the rest of the night, watching the sunset, and netflix. Parked in their own little slice of paradise, where nothing could bother them.
