The pogues had decided to stay overnight in the chateau together. It had just felt right. All four of them piled into John B's bed and regardless of how cramped they were, it had almost felt like things would be okay again.

Lydia yawned and did her best to maneuver her way out of the tangle of limbs without disturbing anyone. "When did I get so out of shape?" Lydia thought as she panted from the complicated way she had managed to get off the bed. Thankfully her efforts had paid off, as the three remaining teens were still sleeping.

She walked into the kitchen and remembered that not only did they have groceries, but they finally had power. So she brewed herself a cup of coffee and began to make breakfast. She hummed along to Good Old Days by Kesha and Macklemore as it played through her headphones and flipped the pancake she was cooking. Lydia was so caught up in her cooking that she didn't even hear the bedroom door open and close.

(a/n fyi, good old days is basically an anthem for this chapter)

"I missed this" JJ muttered as he kissed her bare shoulder and lazily wrapped his arms around her waist

"Jesus JJ, you scared the shit out of me" Lydia said, pulling a headphone out of her ear

"What can I say? My beautiful girl and good food? I couldn't resist" He replied

"Well since you're up, wanna get started on the eggs?" She asked gesturing to the carton that she had pulled from the fridge

"Only because you asked" He smirked, grabbing the carton and a pan, "Anyone else and the answer would've been not a chance"

"You're lucky I tolerate you, Maybank" Lydia replied, pointing to him with the spatula she was holding

"You tolerate me?" JJ asked, faking offense, "Wow, I see how it is"

Lydia laughed until there was a cold slimy substance in her hair, "Tell me you did not just crack an egg on my head" She fought back a grin

"And if I did?" JJ laughed

"Well then I'd have to do this" She replied before flicking some pancake batter at him

JJ stared at her, barely containing his laughter, before moving to grab another egg

"Hey, nope. We're even" Lydia jokingly warned, backing away from him with her hands in front of her, "Let me finish cooking and we'll settle this a different way"

"You're lucky I'm hungry" JJ replied before going back to cooking eggs

Eventually, Kie and Pope made their way out to the kitchen, just as Lydia and JJ were finishing the food. As they settled down to eat, Lydia paused, "So I have an idea for today if y'all are down"

The group nodded, interested to hear what the girl had planned, "Okay, so last night I couldn't sleep and I was thinking about John B and what we'd be doing if he was here" Lydia trailed off, looking for reactions from her friends. JJ squeezed her thigh, where his hand had been previously resting, as a reminder that he supported her always.

"I thought maybe we could surf, since it's been a pretty long time since we've done that and then maybe just come back here and hang out, like we used to?" Lydia proposed hopefully

The teens looked around at each other, trying to figure out what everyone else what thinking

"But I mean if you think it's stupid then...." Lydia rushed out, hoping she hadn't pushed too hard

"Lyds, I think it's a great idea" Kie said, reaching across the table to grab the girl's hand

"Me too, let's do it pogue style, baby" JJ added, Pope nodding as well
