Chapter 26 - Shocked!

2 weeks later...

Deepika POV

Today Ranveer is leaving for a business trip to New York. He will be there for 7 days. I am already missing him just by thinking he is leaving... Right now we both are in the living room. He'll leave for the airport in 20 minutes. He is on the phone making a few important calls. The work pressure has gone higher since last week. Especially for him...

R: Deepu I done, let's go!

D: Let's go!

I am going with him to the airport to drop him. Today is a Sunday so I'm not busy. I was driving the car. I'm going to miss him a lot! This is the first time we both will be apart since the day we got married. These days Ranveer doesn't give much attention to me as he did before. I guess it's just work pressure. When this deal gets finalized I am sure everything will be back to normal... I hope!

We reached Mumbai International Airport. I parked the car near the entrance and got off. He got a his luggage out of the car.

D: Baby I'll miss you!

I hugged him tight.

R: I miss you too Deepu! Take care of your self I'll be back soon. Bye!

D: That's not how you say bey... 😈

R: Not today Deepu it's getting late. I'll see you soon...

He pecked my temple quickly.

D: I love you! Come back soon

R: I love you baby too. And I will...

He waved and entered the gate. I don't feel right. It feels like he is hiding something from me. I know Ranveer, he can never have enough romance. And today we were half an hour early. How could he be late? I trust him... I know he loves me and wouldn't do anything that would hurt me ever. I'm just overthinking it...

Skip to Friday (5 days later)...

Deepika POV

It's been 5 days since Ranveer has left. He didn't call me once. When he reached New Your he texted me and that's it. I called yesterday him but he said he is busy in a meeting and will call me back. Which he never did. What is happening? He is coming back tomorrow. Well he has some explaining to do

Sid calling...

D: Hi!

S: Meet me at the lobby it's important!

D: What happened?

S: Just come!

End call

I rushed down to the lobby. Sid waited for me near the elevator.

D: What happened?

S: Did you see this?

He held out his phone. I took it from his hands and saw it... It was Ranveer! Ki-Kissing her?
What? I was in a state of shock. My hands turned cold my eyes pouring with tears... How could he? Why? Am I not good enough for him? He is cheating on me? Did this really happen? Just so many questions and only one person could answer... Ranveer.

D: Send this to me!

S: Deepika-

D: Just send it to me!

S: Ok fine...

I rushed up to my office to grab my stuff so I could leave. My brain is not functioning... What am I going to do?

A: Deepika what happened?

D: Come with me...

I grabbed Aliya's hand and took her to the washroom with me.
