Imagine: You've just arrived at the airport in L.A.. After graduating high school, you took a couple years off and spent them with friends, but now, you're serious about your future. You're dreams have been singing and acting, and it's obvious L.A. is the place to be. Your only plan is to live in a cheap hotel, work at a Starbucks and save money for a nice apartment. It seems simple, but you're all alone, and it's the first time you've ever actually been on your own. "Well...Time to go..." You whisper to yourself as you begin gathering your bags. "Alright Kendall! We'll see you in a few days!" You hear a voice behind you. "Bye guys! I'll talk to you later!" Before you have a chance to react, someone bumps into you, nearly knocking you onto the floor. "I'm so sorry! I should have been watching where I was going! Are you ok?" You look up into his eyes and catch your breath. It's Kendall Schmidt. A member of a boy band you like, and an actor on a show you would love to be in. "Uh, yeah...I'm fine...You?" "You didn't run into me, I ran into you...I think I'm fine.." He giggled before speaking again. "What's your name?" "(Y/N)" You blush. "Well hello (Y/N), I'm Kendall Schmidt." "I know....I really enjoy your music and show. You guys are really talented.." You blush even more as you look down to the ground. "That's awesome! Hey. where are you heading? I could give you a ride..." "Honestly, I have no clue. I'm moving here, and my plan is simple. Stay in a cheap hotel, work at a Starbucks and save money for an apartment." Kendall laughs, which makes you blush again. "Well, it will be hard to find a cheap hotel near a Starbucks. It'll be hard to find a cheap hotel anyway! I have a guest room in my apartment. I wouldn't mind you staying there until you save money for your own place. Free of charge! How's that?" You look into his eyes with surprise. "Kendall, I couldn't. I mean, we just met, you don't even know me. You're crazy to just invite some random girl to live with you!" "Are you complaining?" "Not really...You're just insane to do this!" "Maybe, but I think it's ok to be a little insane sometimes. A sane mind is a boring mind, and a sane life is like no life at all." "Huh. Wise words. I suppose if you really don't mind me staying with you, I will." You smile up at him as he smiles back. "I'd be honored. Here! Let me take your bags!" Kendall grabs all of your bags and you follow him through the airport and out to his car. "Are you sure about this...? I can still catch a cab and ask them where a cheap hotel is. I'm sure any driver would know.." Kendall opened the passenger door for you are laughed. "(Y/N), I can assure you that my place is the cheapest they come. Now just get in the car and stop worrying!" You listen to Kendall and get into the car, putting your seat belt on as he closes the door. "Alright, now it's not too far, so this won't be a horrible car ride..." Kendall says as he gets into the drivers seat and starts the car. You both laugh as he drives out of the parking lot. "So, why did you move here?" He asks after a few moments of awkward silence. "Well, it's always been my dream to sing and act. Until now, they've really just been interests and past times. Lately, I've gotten more serious about it though, I think I'm ready to take that leap of faith, you know?" "Yeah, I totally understand where you are coming from. Could you sing something for me?" "Uh, I don't know about that....I get really nervous when I sing. And you're...You.." "So, you said it was your dream. And what do you mean I'm me? I'm Kendall Schmidt, part of Big Time Rush the band and show, the singer and actor....Is that it?" "Yeah....You're a professional, and I'm not....It's kinda intimidating." "I intimidate you? Well (Y/N), everyone starts somewhere. What if your start is right here in this car, with me?" You look over to him and notice he is looking at you. "Kendall. I'll sing if you pay attention to the road, and only the road. Got it?" "Oh! Sorry! Yeah, I got it..." You notice him blush as he stares straight ahead. "Uh. Kendall....I don't know what to sing..." You hear him chuckle as you look down. "Just pick something you know from you heart, something that feels right. Don't be nervous (Y/N)..." "Ok...." You take a deep breath and begin to sing one of your favorite songs. After you finish, all you hear is silence. "Wow..." "What?" You ask, unsure as to if you heard Kendall say something or not. "Just wow. You're amazing (Y/N). Incredible. The other guys have to hear you! I'm sure we could get you a record deal in no time with a voice like that!" "Kendall...I'm not so sure about that...I mean-" "You said it was your dream! And what about that leap of faith you were talking about? Life is about diving in and taking chances. Take this chance with me (Y/N)..." Kendall parked the car and looked at you with a pleading expression. You could tell he was being sincere, and it made your heart melt. You sigh. "Ok Kendall.....I'll trust you. But only if you  promise to take this leap with me." "I promise." Kendall smiles at you and you blush. "Well, I assume we are here...." "Oh! Right! Let me get your bags and we can head up to the apartment to get you settled in!" "Sounds great!" You reply as you both get out of the car. (Three months later) You've been living with Kendall and things have been going great. The guys and his other friends weren't crazy about a random girl living with him at first, but they liked you a lot after spending some time with you. Kendall has become your best friend, the one person you would trust with your life, and career, like you already have several times. He helped you get a record deal with the same place him and the guys are signed with, and he even got you a spot on the show as Carlos' character's first serious love interest. It was a lot of fun on set, and you loved your character. All of your free time in between writing and recording your music and filming the show is spent with Kendall and the guys, but usually just Kendall, since you two live together. Today all of you are on set with about 15 minutes before filming for the new episode starts. You're in your dressing room when Carlos walks in. "Hey! You ready for today?" He smiles at you. "Yeah, I guess so. Today's the big day after all....But I'm not going to lye Carlos, it's gonna be kind of weird for me..." "Hey, don't worry! It'll be a little weird for me too (Y/N), but it's just acting. An on-screen kiss means nothing, and it's not like it's us! It's just our characters!" "I know Carlos...Well, you wanna help run lines with me? I just want to make sure I have everything." "Yeah! Sure!" Just then, Kendall walked in. "Hey, Carlos...Do you mind if I run lines with (Y/N) for you? I think James and Logan are waiting for you on set." "Why?" "They didn't say...But they acted like they really needed you." "Ok Kendall, sure. I'll be back if filming doesn't start before they are done with me. See ya (Y/N)!" "Bye Carlos!" You call as he quickly leaves the room. "Well, are we going to run your lines?" "Kendall, are you ok?" "Yeah! Fine! Are you ready?" "Yeah Kendall, I'm ready." You breathe in and out before beginning your first run through without the script. You handed Kendall your script so he could read Carlos' lines, but to your surprise he tossed it onto a little table. You begin. "Carlos! I can't believe you did that!" "Did what Cassidy? What did I do?" "What do you mean 'what did I do'? Carlos! I've been avoiding you because I saw you kissing another girl earlier!" "No I- Wait....No Cas! You don't understand! It's not what it looked like!" "How can a kiss like that not be what it looked like Carlos? I can't believe you did that to me! I really thought you would be different, but I guess not." You start to turn to walk away, like it says in your script, and Kendall grabs your arm. You turn to face him again. "Cassidy, let me explain....That was Camille. She was preparing for an audition for a movie with a kissing scene, and she goes crazy when she practices. She thought I was Logan, and she kissed me because she usually does that to Logan. Cas, that's the first time she ever broke character before meaning to...You must have ran off just before she did. Camille was so sorry and worried that you would hate her, but I said you would understand. Do you understand?" Kendall takes your face in one of his hands, like the script says. You're surprised he knows exactly what to do and say. You've never seen him practice the other guys' lines before. "Yeah Carlos...I guess I understand. It's just, I really like you, and I don't want to loose you...I got jealous when I saw you kiss her, or her kiss you, whatever. I just don't want that to happen again. I want to be the girl you kiss." "Really? I mean, I really like you too Cassidy, a lot. I've actually been trying to ask you something all day, but you know, you were avoiding me..." Kendall moves his hand from your face and holds both of your hands in his as he looks into your eyes. "What is it Carlos?" "I've never really been in a serious relationship before...I've always wondered why Kendall could get Jo, then Lucy, and why Logan will always have Camille, and why James could get any girl he wants in the world. Then there's me. I can never get a girl to like me. Maybe I'm too stupid and crazy." "Carlos, don't say that! You're amazing just the way you are! That's what I like about you.." "Really...?" Kendall pauses, and you are about to say your next line before he interrupts you. "Before you came into my life, my life almost meant nothing. I was nothing. Sure, I was happy, but I was nothing. You came along and my world is brighter! I smile all the time because I'm always thinking about you, everyday, all the time. If I'm having a bad day I can look at you and everything melts away. The best thing I've ever done in my life was run into you and take my leap of faith." He stops for a moment, and you can tell his heart is racing. "Kendall, that's not in the script..." You look at him confused, awaiting an explanation. "I know (Y/N).....I just.....I really like you, and I have liked you since the first day I saw you. It's honestly been torture having to live in the same apartment and not being able to call you mine. It's been torture having to know you're sleeping in the room across the hall and not in my bed in my arms. I want you, and only you..." "Are you serious Kendall?" He pulls you closer to him and wraps his arms around your waist. Soon, you find his lips colliding with yours, creating the most magical feeling you've ever felt. After a minute, he pulls away and your foreheads lean against each other. "Well, this will confuse the fans and viewers..." You whisper. You both laugh, still breathing heavily. "They'll figure it out in time. All that matters now is you're mine. I love you (Y/N)." "I love you too Kendall." You lean up and kiss him again, thankful that just months ago he met a stranger in an airport and opened up not only his home, but his heart. The best part, that stranger is you...
