Chapter Fifty three

Nakakunot ang kanyang noo at kagat kagat niya ang kuko habang nakatayo sa floor to ceiling window at nakatingin sa gate ng mansyon nila Elle. Ngayon ang araw ng pagbisita ni Mason kaya naman heto siya at hindi mapakali.

"Relax, your baby daddy will arrive safely." Ang narinig niyang wika ni Elle mula sa kanyang likuran.

Hinarap niya ito. She's drinking her tea while browsing the morning newspaper.

"I'm not worried." Labas sa ilong niyang sagot.

Elle just rolled her eyes and then gave her a look that says, girl, I can definitely see sweat oozing from those pores. Now if you tell me that is not nervousness I am seeing, then I don't know what the bloody hell that is.

Marahas siyang napabuntong hininga saka lumapit dito.

"I can't help but get worried. Nandito ang parents ko. Hindi ko alam kung anong magiging reaksyon nila especially my dad once he sees him."

"When you're dad clap eyes on him, he'll definitely see kung kanino nagmana ng mukha ang anak mo—-What?"

She gave Elle a pointed look. Elle sighed. Ibinaba nito ang diyaryo saka tinapik ang upuan sa tabi nito. Umupo siya doon.

"You have to bloody relax, Ellora. Look, Mason is an ex-soldier like Cole. He's used to conflicts and interrogations. He'll be okay. It's not like he's going to war against your parents. He can handle it, don't worry." Inabot nito ang tea cup sa kanya. "Here have some tea to calm your nerves."

Nagdududang tinanggap niya ang tea cup mula dito.

He'd been pacing in front of this huge gate for half an hour now.

Be here at nine. My father wants a word with you.

Alas nuebe ang usapan pero inagahan niya talaga ang pagpunta. Kararating niya lang kagabi pero hindi rin naman siya nakatulog ng maayos dahil sa jet lag at dahil sa meeting na magaganap mamayang...

Muli niyang sinilip ang wrist watch.

"Twenty minutes from now."

Shit!

Hindi na bago sa kanya ang mga komplikasyong ganito. He was used to dealing with conflicts and misunderstandings since he was in the military two years ago. Sanay siyang magpaliwanag dahil iyan ang isang bagay na itinuro sa kanila noon. He knows how to speak well, explain well, at kumuha ng loob ng kalaban dahil madalas, kasama iyon sa defensive tactics nila.

And lastly, he knows how to stood his ground and never falter.

Kahit noong minsan siyang nahuli ng isang grupo ng terorista sa Iraq. He stayed at their camp for a week while being tortured and interrogated at the same time, and yet, not once did he falter. He endured and survived and came out of that hell hole alive. After that, he continued doing the same routine like nothing hellish happened to him. They kept on attacking terrorists camps.. killing... torturing..

He sighed.

Pero sa lagay niya ngayon, he's not yet within the perimeter of the hostile terroritory pero heto't hindi na siya mapakali sa sobrang kaba.

Yeah, right.

He haven't yet met Ellora's father but he's already doing a good job intimidating the hell out of him!

Fuck! Mason!

Ngayon pa lang kinakabahan ka na? Eh paano pa kaya pag nandiyan na yung matandang iyon sa harap mo? Eh di nganga ka na?
