Chapter Thirty

Aiden woke up from the incessant knocking on his door. He tried to ignore it but it just won't stop. Dumapa siya sa kama at saka itinakip ang unan sa tenga.

"Baby.. I think you should get that.." Anas ni Nica na naalimpungatan din sa ingay. "That might be somthing important. Besides, our daughter might wake up and I'm just beginning to sleep.."

He gave her an apologetic look before kissing her forehead. "Sleep. I got this."

Sa mabibigat na mga hakbang ay tinungo niya ang pinto ng master's bedroom. Pagbukas niya niyon, ang malawak na ngiti ni Mason ang agad na bumungad sa kanya.

"What?!" Aiden snapped. But Mason just grinned at him.

Aiden rolled his eyes. "Aren't you too happy this early in the morning?" He asked. Sarcasm dripping in his tone.

Mas lalo lang lumawak ang ngiti ni Mason. "Oh you'll not gonna believe what happened." Ang umpisa nito. Excitement in his voice.

"Can't it wait? Napuyat kami ni Nica kagabi sa bunso ko. I still haven't got enough sleep, man."

Sinilip nito ang natutulog na si Nica bago bumaling sa kanya. "Come here." Anito at saka siya hinila pababa ng hagdan.

Aiden groaned. "Oh this better be important." Ang wika nito na nagpatianod sa kaibigan.

They ended up in the kitchen.

"I'll prepare us some coffee." Mason announced as he started rummaging through the cupboards. "I'll add a shot of espresso to yours."

Minasahe ni Aiden ang batok. "Make that double. I'm still very much sleepy." Aiden answered with a yawn.

"Roger that."

Makalipas ang ilang sandali, inilapag na ni Mason ang tinimplang kape.

"Here's yours."

"Thanks."

Mason clinked their mugs together. "Cheers."

Aiden frowned at his behavior. "Is there something the matter with you?"

"Just excited. And very much happy."

"Yeah.. I can pretty much see that since you never bothered to hide it." Aiden said as he sipped on his coffee. "So. What got you this excited?"

"Ang mag-ina ko."

Nabitin sa ere ang paginom ni Aiden ng kape.

"Ellora and Rodjan?"

"Ah-huh."

"What about them?"

Ngingiti-ngiting ibinaba ni Mason ang hawak na mug. "Dude, For the first time, I got to spend some quality time with my son yesterday!"

Aiden smirked. "Oh, so you've already introduced yourself to Ellora as the new bodyguard, I see."

"Yup."

"So I gather it went very well."

"Well.. Not really.. you see she wanted to pay me for my services." Ang tila batang maktol nito na ikinataas ni Aiden ng kilay.
