Maddie's POV

I pull myself out of bed and into the bathroom. I still can't believe he came to the clinic last night. And he actually talked to me!

As I look into the mirror, I sigh. Time to paint on a pretty face.

I start by pulling out my straightener, and leaving it on the counter to heat up. I quickly pull out my iPod and attach it to the speaker in my bathroom, putting on pandora.

I sing along to the music and harmonize in some places, as I straighten my hair.

"Maddie! Ten minutes til breakfast!" my mom yells from down the hall.

"Ok! I'll be down!" I reply, and quickly unplug my straightener.

Hmm, eyeliner or no eyeliner?

If I run into him today, and I'm not wearing eyeliner, he may think I'm ugly.

Buuutttt, if I run into him today, and I am wearing eyeliner, he may think I wear too much makeup.

I decide against it, and just reach for my mascara. Being the clumsy person I am, I lay my hand directly on the hot straightener next to my mascara.

"Ow!" I yell cursing under my breath.

The welt is already starting to form when I run my hand under cold water.

After a few minutes, I pull it out and force myself to apply mascara, even though my hand hurts.

When I finish, I pull myself into some jeans and a t-shirt, pulling on converse before running down the hall.

"I missed breakfast didn't I?" I ask hesitantly.

"Yes," my father says slamming my bag down next to me, "You did."

I sigh and pick up my bag. "Sorry."

"Let's go," he says opening the door to the car.

We start the five minute drive to school, when my dad turns to look at me.

"We're going camping this weekend. You're allowed to bring one friend. Choose wisely," he says before pulling into the school.

I nod. "Uh yeah, ok. I will," I say, getting out of the car and shutting the door behind me.

I walk into this awful place we call school, and find a crowd of people beside my locker. This happens from time to time, but they're never there to talk to me. Normally, they're there to talk to the hot shot cheerleader, who accompanies the locker next to mine, Nicole.

I gently slide past a few people and open my locker. Sometimes I like to listen to the gossip the people spew, just to laugh at how naive everyone is.

"Did you hear that the football team got their new uniforms?" asks Sharon, Nicole's number one minion.

Nicole nods and smiles deviously.

"I did, I'm gonna ask Liam about them today. He's so hot," she says putting on lipstick in her locker mirror.

I purse my lips and try not to look over at her.

"Here he comes now," Sharon says pointing.

Nicole fluffs her hair and pops her lips. She then turns to Liam and scoots uncomfortably close to him.

"Liam!" she says smiling, "Did you get your new uniform? I bet you're excited huh?" she says resting a hand on his chest.

To my delight, he takes a step back from her, removing her hand from him.

"Uh, yeah, so excited," he says rubbing the back of his neck.

Then he does the unthinkable, and looks at me. Really looks at me. Not just a two second glance, but he looks at me.

I turn my head to face the floor to hide my blush.

This is two interactions within 24 hours, and I don't know how to even function around him.

Nicole has noticed his shift of attention, so she quickly diverts it back to her. As always.

"I'm excited to cheer too! It'll be a great season! Maybe I can come by your house later, and we can talk more about it," she says smiling.

"Yeah, sure, whatever," he says, still not paying attention to her. I can't tell where his eyes are trained, but I could've sworn they were on me and at this point, I'm practically a tomato.

"Really? Great!" she says flipping her hair in a way I'm sure she thought looked casual, but to the rest of us really just looked fake.

"Uhh wait what did you say before?" he says, finally diverting his gaze back to her.

"I asked if I could come over to your place after school," she says confused.

"Oh, uhm, sorry but I've got a thing after school," he says rubbing the back of his neck again.

I love the way his bicep flexes when it stretches behind his head. Wow.

"Oh, well that's fine. We'll just have to reschedule," she says slamming her locker and throwing me a dirty look before walking off, talking all her minions with her.

To my surprise, Liam then turns to me.

"Hey, what were you doing at the clinic late last night?" he asks.

I fumble my words and blush.

"Uh I was, I was helping my..my Aunt Sandy," I smile.

He laughs and pokes my dimple.

"I like your dimple a lot. It's cute," he says smiling, "I was wondering if you wanted to come with me after school to get pizza or something," he says putting his hands in his pockets.

My heart literally explodes with 50 different emotions at once, but I try to keep my cool.

"YES!"

So much for that.

"I mean, yeah, yeah that'd be cool," I say smiling and looking down.

"Great! I'll pick you up outside when school ends, babe."

I swear, as he walks away, I do a dance.

Ok, maybe not physically, but in my head. A dance was definitely put into action.

I close my locker and start towards homeroom, absolutely giddy as I rapidly DM everything that just happened to Alli while I rush down the hall.
