Chapter 28

Maddie's POV

After Liam and I have our really mushy, but sweet moment, we start towards the mountain restaurant.

Once we arrive, Liam opens my door and helps me out.

"Thanks, you're such a gentleman," I smile.

"Well I learned a few things from my dad before he turned bad," he says, leading me inside.

I grab his hand and squeeze it as we walk.

"You're nothing like you dad, you know. I've never met him, but I know you're nothing like him. You're sweet and loving, and from what I hear, he's cruel," I say, rubbing circles into his thumb.

He nods, "He is."

"Maddie!" I hear when the door to the restaurant is opened.

"Mallori!" I say rushing towards her, "I didn't know you still worked here!"

I embrace my old friend is a big hug. It's been forever since I've seen her. We were best friends all throughout middle school, but she moved away.

"Well I left when I moved, but I just moved back, so I somehow get rehired!" she explains.

"That's fantastic! I'm so glad you're back! I've missed you so much," I say hugging her again.

"I've missed you too," she says smiling and turning to Liam, "And who might this be?"

She raises an eyebrow at me. She knows about my feelings for Liam. I told her about them all throughout middle school, and I continued to text her about them when she moved.

I blush, "This is Liam."

"Hi, it's very nice to meet you, Mallori," he says extending his arm for a shake, but Mallori hugs him instead.

"Listen Liam, if you hurt her, I will not hesitate to find you, and kill you," she whispers to him, knowing I can still hear, "But it's nice to meet you too."

I laugh at her, she's extremely funny and nice. I've really missed her.

"So, what's going on with you and Niall?" I ask.

Mallori told me she started dating this Irish guy named Niall a few years after she moved.

"We're still going strong!" She smiles, "I really love him."

I smile and punch her shoulder, "That's great, Mallori. I'm happy for you. I better get to meet him now that you live here!"

"But of course!" She laughs, "Well I'll seat you guys now, since it's kinda my job."

She leads us to a beautiful balcony table, which has an amazing view may I add.

Liam and I sit down, and Mallori leaves us to look at our menus.

"This place is amazing, it's so pretty," I say staring at the mountains in amazement.

"What are you talking about? You're the prettiest thing up here," he says.
