Chapter 3

Norm Spellman

Hakguk's pov

We had landed a few minutes ago or so and now Jake and I are seated in a cafeteria listening to some guy named Quaritch rant about how Pandora works. I honestly paid no attention to what he was saying for the mere fact everything he was talking about was a complete load of bullshit. After his speech I look over and see Jake in complete awe.

Maybe Jake and Tom didn't think alike. Tom just like myself wouldn't have paid attention to this speech but Jake not only listened to it whole heartedly but he looked motivated. I shoved his shoulder and motioned with my head to head out the door. I walked in front of him down the hall till I reached the lab doors.

Finally a place I belong! I open the doors and nearly gasp at all the lab equipment. They have everything from microscopes to high advanced bioengineering data base software! I walk up to a microscope and look through it gasping at the cells being observed. "Ah that's from a plant here in Pandora called the dragon sap. Used for curing diseases only contracted here on Pandora."

I look up and smile widely. "Norm!" He smiles and we hug happily. "Hakguk look at you!! Damn you've matured!! What are you now twenty three!?" I was going to correct him when I stopped. That's right I am no longer eighteen. "Uh yeah I am! But me!? Look at you!! You look old!" Norm glared and smacked me upside the head. I groaned a bit but I laughed regardless.

"Oh and you must be Jake Sully! Tommy's brother?" Norm went over to Jake and shook his hand. "We all heard of...." Norm looked over at me but I waved him off and walked off. As I looked around I gasped seeing the Avatars. "Yeah they matured on the way." I look over and see a man with curly black hair. "You must be Min Hakguk right!? My name is Max I'm one of the lead directors here! We have heard much about you and I am honored to be in your presence."

I look down at my hands then I look back at him and smile. "Why thank you! And I see the proprioceptive sims worked well huh." Norm walks over and nods. "Yeah they did look at their muscle tone!" We walk over to the tubes. I head to mine and I place my hands on the tube. "Wow amazing." I murmur my thoughts. I can hear Jake talking but I didn't hear exactly what he said. "No it looks just like you." Norm told him.

Just like him...yeah. I walk over and place my hand on Jake's shoulder. "Aren't you excited to take it out?" Jake looks up at me and grins. "Hell yeah." Norm pulls me away for a sec so I end up letting go of Jake. "Take Jake to the other room so he can do his video log." Oh yeah I forgot about that! I haven't don't a vlog in quite a long time. But from what I last saw I've logged 1097 hours. I had quite a lot of free time at night...rather then going out with the others because I couldn't I wasn't old enough...I stayed in my dorm and did this.

I walked over to Jake and motioned with my hand for him to move forward. He wheels himself forward and soon we are out the lab and making our way down the hall. "Where are we going?" He looks up at me with confused expression. "Well you see in order to get into the whole lab role thing you have to do video logs about your experience. It's called observation." I open the door to a vacant lab and allow Jake to enter.

"It's a way of recollecting data and information. All scientists do it! Especially researchers. It's essential to our job." I set up a camera on a stand and motion for Jake to be in front of it. "So think of this as you doing science." I click the record button and I silently walk off to observe some plant samples while Jake did his thing. "Wait so what do I say?" I look over and smile.
