Harry's point of view

At christmas eve Harry found himself at home all by himself. Everything was a mess. Ginny had left him for good, and their children were all disappointed in him. Not to mention that he and Draco had hooked up again. He was all worried about how to explain it to Albus. He thought about back when he forced Albus and Scorpius to separate, before they even dated. The tears in Albus's face and all that. He couldn't do this to him again. He couldn't.

He heard a sloppy knock on his window. An owl, who wasn't Wilbur, was standing there with a letter. Harry assumed it was from Hogwarts. He opened the window to see what it was. When he looked at it he knew for sure it was from Albus by the handwriting. He thought that it must be a late answer to the letter he sent them all.

Thanks a lot "dad" for not wanting us home for christmas. It doesn't matter because I don't need you either. Hope you're doing well with mum. Never write to me again thanks! //Albus

Wonderful. Now Albus was mad at him for sure. He didn't even want to imagine his reaction if he told him about Draco. He thought about what Draco told him when they were younger. "Some secrets are better off remaining as secrets." But he couldn't lie to his own son. He had no choice. Sooner or later he had to tell him. And Scorpius as well.

At evening Dudley and his daughter Veronica were going to visit him. They hadn't seen each other for years. Last time he saw Veronica she was not older than seven. Dudley and his ex-wife divorced not more than a year ago.

The door knocked and as he opened the door he found his cousin, who seemed to have lost some weight since last time, and a fifteen year old blonde who had blue highlights in her hair and wore a hat with a patch as a symbol of a ball with one half red and the other half white, which looked familiar.

"Big D. Long time no see," Harry greeted. "Hello Veronica."

They went to the kitchen and took their seats. Veronica sat next to her dad, with headphones and focused on something that seemed to be some kind of game.

"It's an old 3DS," Dudley explained. "So. Your wife just dumped you, am I correct?"

"Nah, it's not exactly like that," said Harry. "If there's anyone to blame, it's me."

"Shit!" Veronica yelled at her game which made Dudley laugh before he returned to the conversation.

"So you caused it? How?"

"I've met someone," Harry shortly explained. "And I don't know how to tell Albus about it."

"So it's the same crap that Chelsea did to me. Cheating. Ever since we got divorced Veronica refused to ever hear from her again. So I guess your children will feel the same. So who is she?"

"First of all, there's no she in this," said Harry as he saw the confused look in Dudley's face. "However, that's not the point. The man I'm seeing is the father of Albus's boyfriend." Dudley fell silent.

"Ronnie," he said and gave his daughter a poke. "How much do you love Brian?"

"Brian?" Harry questioned as if he missed something.

"He's my boyfriend," Veronica explained. "Well. A lot. Why?"

"What would you say if I started to date his mum?" Dudley asked. "Apparently Harry and Albus are in that situation right now."

"Tell him the truth," Veronica told Harry. "He's going to hate you for sure, but at least he deserves to know what's going on." Harry hesitated for a moment.

"I'll write to him," he said. "Maybe if I ask him to meet me-"

"-then you'll tell him when you meet," Dudley finished off for him. "To see how he reacts. He's going to be mad but it's better than lying."

"Buy him a pizza first," Veronica suggested. "He'll like it, everyone likes pizza. Then you tell him. Speaking of pizza. Dad, can we buy pizza when we get home?"

"Sure thing, sweetie," said Dudley as she returned to her game.

She reminded him a lot of a younger version of Dudley.

"I'm not sure if they sell pizza in Hogsmeade though," said Harry before he began writing the letter.

Albus's point of view

Since all the other Slytherins were home, the boys had the common room all by themselves. They stayed up late at night playing wizard's chess by the fire.

"Checkmate," said Scorpius.

"Wha- again?!" said Albus. "I've been winning this game since I was five!"

"Looks like your brain needs a new lesson," Scorpius teased.

Albus pinned his boyfriend to the ground, ignoring that he messed up the chessboard, and lied on top of him.

"Just wait 'til you get to challenge uncle Ron and see who really needs a brain lesson."

"What, is he worse than you?"

"Er no? The complete opposite. Like he could be awarded."

They played another round and Scorpius won again. Afterwards they headed to their dorm. Albus crawled into his bed and Scorpius did the same in his.

"Hey Scorp? We're alone in here," Albus reminded and made room for another one as he held up the covers. "Join me will you?"

"Okay," Scorpius agreed and laid down beside him.

"This might be the best christmas eve in my entire life," said Albus as he rested his head on Scorpius's chest hugging him tight.

"Yeah. Mine as well," said Scorpius and kissed the top of his head.
