Broken Promise [ Yoongi ]

"Keep your fourth finger empty, Y/N-ah! I'll propose to you when we get older! I promise"

7 year old Min Yoongi, announces loudly handing you a small flower freshly picked from his mother's garden.

You smile cheekily and nod

"I promise Yoongi!"

You say and he interwines his pinky onto yours sealing the deal.

"Y/N! Have you kept your promise? Is your fourth finger still empty?"

Now 15, Teenage Yoongi wraps his arms around your shoulder and you happily nod

"Of course!"

You reply with such ethusiasm.

"Just a little more Y/N! I'll propose to you"

He whispers planting a kiss on your forehead.

"Don't forget me Y/N-ah"

Now, 18 years young, Yoongi sadly says with a frown. You nod wiping the tears of your face.

"I will never."

You reply taking his hand in yours

"Keep your fourth finger empty, don't let anyone else take you away from me"

Yoongi tells you and you nod.

He plants a kiss on your ring finger before planting a kiss on your forehead. You soon turn around pulling your suitcase along with you to the plane, leaving the love of your life behind.

There was not a day you didn't cry. Remember how his eyes shined. You were decided to keep your promise, but was he?

A year passes by so quickly and now 5 years. No one message from Min Yoongi. What has happened?

You tap your pen impatiently on to the surface of your table.

Ding!

Your phone lights up.

You unlock it quickly, reading the text message sent.

Wedding bells are now ringing.

Everyone in beautiful coral gowns arms looped around their partners

You sigh nervously clutching on your bouquet tightly.

The beat starts to play and you exhale. You walk down the aisle, tears  threatening to fall. You look over at the groom he has the widest smile on his face looking back at you. You give him a nod and proceed to your seat.

You look over back at the aisle and you saw the most beautiful girl ever. She wore the wedding dress you've always dreamt of, the smile you could've and most especially the man you've always loved.

You watch them exchange vows and happily kiss in front if the dear altar.

You were at Yoongi's wedding.

But only as a his bestfriend.

The ceremony ends and they all run out.

You look ahead to see Yoongi, with a big smile on his face, hand in hand with his beautiful bride who wasn't you.

"I kept my promise, Yoongi. Why didn't you keep yours?"

You speak so softly before turning your heel and walking away from the reality that wounded you forever.
