The clock was ticking. The feeling if wantedness had been eating her up as the time passes by. She had been waiting for her date for more than an hour now. The waiter asked her for more than 5 times on what she wanted but she refused to talk. Her heart was breaking, she couldn't believe she ever said yes to that jock who asked her out. She knew her friends were right, he'd stood her up. Embarassment was all that she was feeling as people stared at her constantly. Tears were slowly sliding down her cheeks.
"Hey, babe sorry i'm late. Traffic is crazy nowadays."
Someone spoke behind her, unfamiliar voice. She looks up to see a senior from her school whom she barely talked to. He took a seat in front on her, holding her hands in the process
"I'm Jin, just go with it, yeah?"
He says with a soft smile. She nods wiping her tears as she smiled back at him.
"I'm Y/N"
They then begin to order, looking at each other as if they knew one another since forever.
"What made you come up to me?"
She asks, placing her chin on the palm of her hands.
"Well, i was walking back home from a horrible date as well and I saw a familiar face that needed help and decided that hey? What could go wrong?"
He explains. Her smile grows widely.
"Thank you."
She replies receiving a nod from the boym
The night goes on, so well in fact. They exchange hilarious stories and stories that blew their minds. It was as if they were meant to be together with all their similarities. The date ends and they both exit the restaurant. They walk side by side, laughing loudly.
"I still can't believe you ordered mozzarella sticks at a fine dining restaurant"
Y/N chuckles, clutching on to her purse. Jin cackles loudly, shrugging proudly
"Well, is it really a five star restaurant if they don't sell the ten star appetizer?"
He asks rhetorically making her laugh harder.
They soon arrive in front of her apartment.
"Well, this is my place."
She says, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. He gives of a small smile nodding.
"Tonight was amazing. Thank you."
"You're welcome, Y/N. If any of your dates leave you hanging again, count on me to swoop in"
He jokes making her giggle. They stare at each other, letting silence engulf them. He then clears his throat before beginning to talk.
"Well, I should go"
He says
"Ah yeah, well uhm thanks again"
She replies, waving at him.
He waves back before turning his back on her. She heads back inside right then, but before she could close the door, Jin calls her out.
"Yeah?"
She responds, sticking her head out of the door.
"Would you like to go out next time? For real? And don't worry about me not showing up. I won't ever do that"
He assurse her. She bright smiles nodding
"I'd love that"
