Hey guys, wassup. Sorry about not uploading this story for a while. I have this thing when the entire series (spoiler theres like, 5 books) is all planned out in my head. I just need to figure out a way to put it down on paper... Does this even count as paper? I don't know. Check out my other story, Ember. Personally I love it and though this one came first, Ember will always hold a place in my heart (ewww that sounded so cheesy...) I'm also thinking that maybe if I actually set an upload day than I will be more motivated to write. Maybe Thursday... Idk we'll see. Shout out to my friend Ash. You're a pain in the ass sometimes and you correct my spelling and grammar every flipping time. You're also grumpy, unbearable, but you make me smile... When I'm trying not to bang my head against a wall.

I soon found out that all was not exactly what it seemed, also that vampires made the best cookies. Angeline showed me around the freaking massive house that she lived in and I resisted asking too many questions.... Well, I tried to at least.

"So every time that I went over to your house, what the heck was that?"

She shrugged and gestured for me to follow her into the same kitchen that she had knocked me out in a few weeks ago. "Sit here for a moment."

I sat on the stool and looked around. Angeline was behind me, rummaging around in a draw.

"I borrowed one of our cousins houses while they went back to France to meet with the rest of their clan to prepare for my birthday party. They were kind enough to understand. Also smart enough to realize that when I am Queen that I will remember who my friends are."

Out of nowhere I felt a small pinch on my shoulder and I looked around wildly. Angeline put the small needle back in the draw and I stared at her, mouth wide open, "What was that? What did you just do?!"

"It was... Insurance that you don't run off."

I felt my shoulder and when I looked at my finger there was a small stain of blood. I looked at the vampire across from me, now sitting on the other side of the kitchen table. "You... Aren't going to attack me if you smell blood right?"

"No, I don't think so."

"You don't think so?!"

"Please." She laughed softly, "I have a lot more self control than that. Though you do smell nice."

I rubbed my shoulder and swallowed. "What was it that you... Stuck in me?"

"A particularly useful little poison called Basilisk venom."

"WHAT? Am I going to die?!"

"Only if you run off. I'll give you the antidote every few hours so that you continue breathing."

I buried my head in my hands and felt like crying. But funnily enough most of all, I felt pissed. I hated not having control over what was happening to me. It was MY life.

Her eyes narrowed and I had the feeling that she knew exactly what I was thinking. Then, suddenly, she was holding a chocolate cookie in her hand. I blinked.

"Did you... Just..." I trailed off. Not knowing how to explain that a cookie just seemed to materialise in her palm.

"Oh sorry. I thought you might be hungry." She threw me the cookie and I caught it, sniffed it, then carefully took a bite. A warm taste filled my mouth and I felt content. For a moment.

"You have some explaining to do."

She sighed. "You know what? I don't think I do. I've explained most of it. You're here now. You have to keep that temper under control, and you have to watch out for the other vampires... Particularly Cole. My fiance doesn't take kindly to humans."

"Your... Fiance? Isn't he your brother?" My head spun.

Angeline looked slightly perplexed and explained to me like it was the most logical thing in the universe. "In many high ranking families. The siblings are to marry. It keeps the bloodline pure. It's traditional."

"Thats..." I was going to say disgusting but the word got stuck in my throat when I remembered how fast she could move and what she was, "odd."

She smirked slightly and I shrieked as out of nowhere Angelines brother, with his black hair and blue eyes, appeared in front of me.

I stood completely still though I was sure that my shoulders were probably shaking as he, Cole, I remembered, stalked around me like I was his prey. I didn't like the look in his eyes. Cold, merciless, killer. He delicately took a piece of my hair and sniffed it, shrinking away with distaste.

I could feel my heart beating out of control as I waited for him to move. When he finally did I stumbled backwards slightly.

Quicker than I could see he grabbed hold of my chin, forcing me to look into his eyes. Though when he spoke, it was not to me.

"Are you sure you know what you're doing with this one? She seems a little too... Wild." His voice was smooth and deep.

Angeline nearly skipped over, looking tiny compared to him, and placed a hand lightly on his shoulder. "Brother, you promise not to bruise my new toy now... Right?" The change in her was startling, like multiple personalities. It was like she only had eyes for him. I remembered what she said about how other vampires treat humans and I understood. If what she said was true, she was trying to protect me... Maybe. I swallowed nervously.

Cole let go of me, glaring, and I resisted taking a few steps back.

"Only until you start training her. Then we'll see."

Angeline grinned like this was the best news in the world and gently turned his head towards her. They kissed and I couldn't help but look away. It was the way I was raised. Could anything else really shock me? I waited uncomfortably until they were done and then very willingly went with Angeline as she linked arms with me, smiling once more at her.... Brother? Fiance? I decided to stick with 'brother'.

I went with her. Leaving the prince behind, I couldn't help but notice how much my knees were trembling.
