"Archer!" I say loudly.
He speeds up and I bounce up and down.
"Calm down princess, your making me have certain thoughts."
"The only thoughts that you'll be having is why did Olivia punch me!"
His mom went to a restaurant with a man she claims that she's in love with, so Archer and I decided to make cookies while Maizee was sleeping. It took everything in me not to go kiss her a million times on her cute little cheeks as she sleeps. Archer had to pull me away from the adorable scene.
"Let me stir." I groan, pushing him to the side.
I look at the barely mixed ingredients and nudge him with my elbow as he tries to wrap his arms around me.
"So I can't touch you now?" He asks.
"Nope." I respond back, popping the 'p'.
"Why?" Archer whines.
I roll my eyes as I stir.
"Your hands are nasty, I don't know where they've been."
He lets out an annoyed groan and sits on the table.
"Daniel is spending the night tonight, we have to be at the police station at 10 in the morning, you can NOT tell your mom about this."
I pour some chocolate chips into the mix and continue to stir.
"I wasn't going to."
He scoffs.
"Coming from the little church girl."
I roll my eyes.
"Then I guess you're in a relationship with the "little church girl" as you would call it."
"I guess I am." He whispers into my ear.
His breath tickles my cheek and I push him away.
"Come on, your mom is going to be here in an hour and we have to get these baked."
We roll the dough into little balls and place them on a cookie sheet.
"When is Daniel coming?" I ask as I pick up the cookie sheet.
I open the oven and the cookies are taken from me.
"Soon and what do you think you're doing? You can burn yourself." He answers flatly.
I take them back and slide them in before closing the oven door.
"See? I can put some stupid cookies in the oven."
He rolls his eyes and takes out his phone that buzzed.
"He's here...go to a place that someone will most likely not find you."
I narrow my eyes at him.
"Why?"
He walks to the door.
"So you can be safe when I'm gone."
I push him out the door.
"Even if anyone were to come, I would be fine, remember the gun trick?"
"Just go hide, please." He says as he closes the door.
I go back into the kitchen and sit down on the island.
My phone buzzes and my heart starts to race. Lately, my texts have not been very...happy.
Ellie: hey girl! Whatcha up to?
I sigh in relief and start to text back.
Me: @ Archer's house...we have some problems with Dylan. He snuck into his house and tried to kill me!
What am I doing? I can't tell her...or should I? I delete it and text back:
Me: about to go to sleep it's been a long day, night girlie <3
Archer comes back in with Daniel and he gives me a hard stare.
"What?" I ask, annoyed.
He makes his way over to me and looks into my eyes.
"I told you to go hide."
"And I said no..."
Daniel stands behind him and taps him on the shoulder.
"Hey man, she can handle being alone for five seconds."
Archers glare shifts to Daniel.
"How do you know? For all I know, someone could just kill her in the blink of an eye and I wouldn't be here to protect her." He rambles.
I touch his shoulder and he softens and turn back to me with his blazing blue eyes.
"Hey, I'm okay see?" I gesture to my body, "I'm not going anywhere okay?"
He sighs and pulls me into a hug.
"I'm sorry, I'm just a little freaked out."
I nod and give him a soft smile.
"Ok, time to get the cookies out!" I say in excitement.
I rush over it the oven and leave Daniel and Archer to chat.
"They're ready! Now-" I'm cut short by my phone buzzing again and I look down and a lump forms in my throat.
Luke: hey Liv! Meet me behind the Greenville cafe, I heard you and Archer are dating now...time to discuss phase two of my plan. If you don't, I guess I'll have fun with your best friend. It'll be fun for me, not so fun for her.
Love,
Luke
My stomach twists in knots. How can someone be this cruel?
Luke." I croak, my throat suddenly dry.
Their heads snap up I hand Archer my phone. His eyes flicker to mine.
"No." He says as he hands it to Luke.
My mouth drops.
"What are you talking about, I have to go."
Daniel shuts off my phone and sets if onto the table.
"For the first time, I actually agree with her Archer."
I motion to him.
"See?"
Archer shakes his head.
"My girlfriend isn't going anywhere near that psychopath."
I blush lightly at the word 'girlfriend' but it it disappears fast.
"Archer, he's threatening to hurt Ellie. I'm going whether you like it or not."
He scoffs.
"You aren't going and that's the end of it."
I open my mouth to protest but then close it. It's not worth my time.
"Fine."
He gives me a satisfied grin.
"Thank you."
"Thank you." I mock crossing my arms.
Daniel chuckles and I go to sit down, taking my phone on the way. Archer makes his way to me and I take the cookie out of his hand and pop it into my mouth. It burns my tongue and I spit it out onto his leg.
"Ew! Olivia seriously?"
I giggle as he swipes it off and onto the floor.
11:32 PM
We all decided to go to bed a little earlier today since we have to be up and ready by 10. I take my phone and look over the pillow barrier I made before opening Luke's text. I had to pry Archer's hands from off of my waist and push him to the other side to make the barrier. I have him a stern talk on to not touch me with his nasty hands and he turned over and said goodnight. How can he be mad at me for not wanting him to touch me? I roll my eyes at the thought and text Luke back.
Me: I'm coming.
I slip out of bed and go into the hall where I slide on my shoes and coat. I take take Archer's gun from the garage and then I'm off into the dark night.
